They retained it by beating Hamburg 1-0Apologies if I have misunderstood. Forest played Malmö in the final, winning 1-0. I went down to Munich for the match.

He should face a lifetime ban on here for that comment alone.Ha ha, absolute comedy gold.
Villa have had larger average attendances than us in just 10 of the last 50 seasons, and they've won 1 x FA Cup in the last 100 years and 1 x league title in the last 110 years. Unfortunately, the latter led to them winning the European Cup into the bargain, which they never shut up about, although closer examination suggests that even Bristol City could have gone close had their route to the final comprised such luminaries as FC Valur, BFC Dynamo, Dynamo Kiev, Anderlecht and, er, that's it.
I hate all that arbitrary 'big club' guff as a matter of course, but if you're going to invoke it, then at least select a comparator whose hey-day wasn't when they had string for crossbars and goalkeepers in knickerbockers
Bloody hell
So injured tomorrow, and out for the first six weeks of the season ;-)
FernandinhoWas Mendy the only player from our squad who didn't get called up to their national squads?
Ghost writers and editors are great, aren’t they?He certainly made attempts to be coherent in the article without coming across like a Villa fan rant thread on twitter
Pretty sure Carson turned down southgate as wellWas Mendy the only player from our squad who didn't get called up to their national squads?
Is that bloody hell, what's he wearing ? or bloody hell, haven't we sold him yet ? :)Bloody hell
The latter, lol.Is that bloody hell, what's he wearing ? or bloody hell, haven't we sold him yet ? :)
Villa is the perfect example of a club that is yesterday's news with delusions of grandeur.
it makes no sense at all too me.It's called twitter. It's a social media site which allows users to post and interact with messages known as tweets.
Three years in the Championship has a very sobering effect on a club's 'delusions of grandeur'.
...aquiring two business savvy, ambitious, relatively wealthy owners can re-ignite ambition and hope among a supporter base, though...so there is that!
Wes Edens is also involved with the Milwaukee Bucks NBA team. They also had their own star man, coveted by many much 'bigger' franchises, as they call them in America.
They did everything possible to keep their man, and are now one game away from being NBA champs.
Villa won't let Grealish walk away without a fight. That's a fact.
WOAH WOAH WOAH sweet child of mine, isn't that the same issue Villa fans had with our club ?Three years in the Championship has a very sobering effect on a club's 'delusions of grandeur'.

Why would any club let their player go without a fight, unless there's some kind of clause in a contract? If the clause doesn't exist, i think the Villa hierarchy will be trying to sell their vision to Grealish as the poster boy for a new era. But, surely this is what they've always been doing? He's clearly had his head turned, but that doesn't mean he can't be persuaded to stay...he just needs the right incentive. However if he does stay, he's not serious about winning trophies. There is a possibility that Villa will be challenging for top 6 positions soon, maybe they'll get into Europe, but that's a reality at City. Now that's a fact.Three years in the Championship has a very sobering effect on a club's 'delusions of grandeur'.

Lets hope he does not agree with marc_MCFC90Grealish will decide on a move once he finishes viewing this thread and concludes who is the bigger club
The only reason a club lets a player goes easily is if the offer is way above the actual value of the player or the club feels the player is actually not that good and would be happy for them to move on.Why would any club let their player go without a fight, unless there's some kind of clause in a contract?
