Jack Rodwell

I wonder if he was subbed today because he was heading towards a red card, he'd just semi chopped Cahill in their box. Worked really well today and was a threat at corners but is a bit rash in challenges, need to calm it down a bit.

Excellent performance from him today. He's got more pace than any of our other midfielders and his determination with that was excellent today.

Longest he's played for a long while and 55mins this week will hopefully turn into 75mins next week and maybe a full 90 from him soon.

Well happy for him! Go on Jack lad :D !

Agreed he can be a bit rash, but I'm certain his being subbed is about managing his minutes as he returns to fitness.

Great performance off jack, can make that midfield is own for the next 10 years IF he can have any luck with is injuries.

That, as he was already (shouldn't have been) booked and with that shockingly poor ref (who's normally one of the better ones - what was he on today? Must admit his linesman on the East Stand side was the main problem!), and Jack could have got a second yellow at any point.

But also...

His career has been plagued by injury after injury and he has said this week that he is working harder, longer and differently in training than he ever has before. 55mins is the longest he's played for a long while and that will be enough from him for one game. Let's ease him back in, let's not make the same mistakes too many clubs make with too many players in rushing people back and making them play too soon or longer than they are ready for.

I think we timed his substitution perfectly today.

Mancini said he took him off because he was tired . No surprise.
I'd have him and Barry in the engine room next week.

I've seen signs in the bit of game time that he has had up to now that tells me he is going to be a good player. I just despair when i read some of the comments on here slagging him off. Probably from people who have never played the game.
