For a player who actually changed every details of his personal lifestyle just to put his injuries behind and get healthy, with that knowledge, to see him get injured again shattered my heart.stimo said:I wasnrt happy with this signing at first but ive completely changed my mind, his performance at chelsea and even at villa, you can clearly see his potential. felt so sorry for the lad coming off the pitch, clearly he was devastated. just hope he is not another MJ
Putting aside the point that he's occupying a squad position and cost funds which could have got us a Dembele for same money.
It's hard to see a player who's changed so much outside of football to help himself and he's worked hard to get fit and in some good form and then he gets injured again. It's heartwrenching it really is. Injuries are when players go in dark spells and battle demons. That battle with 'luck' and feeling things are against you. I hope Lackey gives him a bit of help because I'd hate to see another prospect go to pot.
All the best to the lad but what's needed is time and rest and patience. Next season is a target now. The thing is if he doesn't stop being injured when he gets to about 22-23 then hope will fade because it looks like he's destined for a Keiron Dyer career.
I think him repacing Michael Johnson has been seamless...
Joking apart ,
really feel for the lad but I am a big believer in making a good start in what ever you do.
He has missed far too much football in his very short career and I suspect this loss of essential learning time will be the end of him at our level.
Harsh , I know but the look on Jack's face as he sat on the ground said it all for me.
Midfield is a major concern for me , major.
