I wasnrt happy with this signing at first but ive completely changed my mind, his performance at chelsea and even at villa, you can clearly see his potential. felt so sorry for the lad coming off the pitch, clearly he was devastated. just hope he is not another MJ
Yeah. For a player who actually changed every details of his personal lifestyle just to put his injuries behind and get healthy, with that knowledge, to see him get injured again shattered my heart.

Putting aside the point that he's occupying a squad position and cost funds which could have got us a Dembele for same money.

It's hard to see a player who's changed so much outside of football to help himself and he's worked hard to get fit and in some good form and then he gets injured again. It's heartwrenching it really is. Injuries are when players go in dark spells and battle demons. That battle with 'luck' and feeling things are against you. I hope Lackey gives him a bit of help because I'd hate to see another prospect go to pot.

All the best to the lad but what's needed is time and rest and patience. Next season is a target now. The thing is if he doesn't stop being injured when he gets to about 22-23 then hope will fade because it looks like he's destined for a Keiron Dyer career.

I think him repacing Michael Johnson has been seamless...

Joking apart ,

really feel for the lad but I am a big believer in making a good start in what ever you do.

He has missed far too much football in his very short career and I suspect this loss of essential learning time will be the end of him at our level.

Harsh , I know but the look on Jack's face as he sat on the ground said it all for me.

Midfield is a major concern for me , major.

Yeah - taking the piss out of injured City players is a real hoot.
My how I used to laugh when the rags sang "There's a hole in your heart, dear Asa".
And when George Best broke Glyn Pardoe's leg in two places in the derby match I was in hysterics.
Not to mention Marc-Vivien Foe.
But at least you got to use your crappy pun.
So well done you.
Like people didn't call Santa Cruz "crocky" from day 1.

Well I didn't,because weirdly enough I don't find career-threatening injuries to any footballers, let alone City ones,a source of great comedic value.
Maybe I'm just odd like that.
im intrigued where these 2 places glynn pardoe broke his leg. was it on pitch and changing room or kitchen and lounge. come on lighten up.

Yep - a total fook up not getting Dembele

How do you know Dembele wanted to come to City?

That's right! You don't.

We might have bid for him and offered him a huge contract.
But what about when he wants to carry on living in London because his girlfriend has a top job down there and all his mates live around him? Or he doesn't like certain players in our team but is best mates with Vertonghen and Dempsey?

Seems like no player can have personal feelings according to some on here and we have a divine right to sign anyone and that they should accept our offer over everyone else.

More wages, Kompany as national compatriot with Fellaini and Miralles close by too. Champions league football and playing for the champions. I can see why he would choose Spurs over us.

Nobody has a divine right I agree. But I could have and have already posted start of season that Rodwell is as injury prone as anybody in football. I like the lad, don't get me wrong. But it wasn't a risk worth taking as champions. We needed impact signings rather than long-term projects. We have taken unnecessary risks here, no denying that.

utted for him. He needs to remain positive. Seems to have a good head screwed on so hopefully he will.

If santa cruz can get back playing regular football then Jack can do it as well

Once we get the right sports doctors to oversee his development things will improve.

I suggest we get Peter Bruckner from Australia for a while , he is top notch with hammy management.

Weak hamstrings are not the worst things that a footballer can suffer from.

Weak ligaments and tendons in the knee are far worse.

A top footballer over hear that plays for Geelong has done his ACL three times in less than three years and the club are sticking by him.

i feel for the lad but just like crocky we took a big risk buying the lad, we knew his injury record.

not sure these days manchester city should be taking those risks.

Dembele hasn't got a pristine record on the soft tissue injury front and you can see how it has affected his season at Spurs.

I think he is a decent player but I wouldn't pay big bucks to have him at City and he doesn't strike me as a person I would want to rely on when the title is on the line to put in a shift and change the game our way.
