Jack Rodwell

You can call it bad luck , bad management , poor technique ( he pulled the hammy when he shot with his left peg ) etc etc but at the end of the day if he is worth the investment we made then we have to get the best sports medico's to look at his legs and manage the situation much better than we have in the past.

Dr Peter Bruckner was hired by Liverpool for the very same reason and while it didn't help the teams fortunes its worth noting he is amongst other things a soft tissue specialist and one would note the number of games missed by players post and prior to his introduction reduced somewhat due to soft tissue injury.

This season , VK, JR in particular and others have been missing large chunks and key games because of such injuries which didn't occur to any the degree last season.

We have to get all our squad up and running far more effectively next season if we are to be title holders again next season and if we do Manure and Chelsea etc had better recruit some decent players over the summer that hit the ground running to compete well with us.

We barely had injuries last season but someone thought it was good thing to change club's doctor.

The poor lad just cant get a break can he. I just think no point now rushing him back. Get him fully recovered and a full pre season will do him the world of good. The lad needs time to out grow these injuries. Wasnt Stevie G at Liverpool injury prone when he was Rodwells age so I am hoping Rodwell gets stronger and used to the demands of football.

It's a shame he can't stay fit. His potential is obviously there and he seems like a decent, hardworking pro...we can only hope he's not a perma-crock.

Gutted for the lad, i thought he was going to break into tears as he walked off.

Awful to say, but when he went off we started playing.

Too negative from the off, one striker away at Villa? should have started Dzeko and Tevez.

I wish he'd stay away from the press until he's got a few more starts under his belt.

I know! I mean, how dare he be optimistic about being fit before the end of the season!

Despite the headline, there's nothing untoward in what he actually says..

Jack Rodwell is on course to resume training this month after his latest injury.

The Manchester City midfielder aggravated a long-standing hamstring problem taking a shot during victory at Aston Villa on 4 March.

That meant another disruption to a debut season at Eastlands which has brought just 11 appearances, but Rodwell aims to be fit for April's FA Cup semi-final and to play his part in the Premier League run-in.

He told the club website: "Obviously you don't want to tempt fate but I'm not looking at this a lengthy absence and I hope to be back in a couple of weeks.

"One thing I would like to say is a big thank you to all our supporters. I've had loads of good will messages saying to keep my chin up and that's I'll be back before too long.

"The fans are the club as far as I'm concerned and it means a lot to know I have their backing and that they are so supportive towards me.

"Hopefully I can play my part in the run-in and help us win some silverware and end what has been a frustrating season on a high.

"This is an injury that can strike at any time to anyone and I'm sure it something that I'll be rid of before too long, but it's an on-going process and something that can't be rushed."

Shouldn't of stepped in this topic.... Some awful Raggy comments in here, would really think I was reading that arrogant rag shit on ragcafe.

I just hope he never sees any of the shit in here.
I can tell many have never even played the game.

He's a quality player, we have the resources, a problem Jack had he was overplayed way too much as a youngster and this is significant in his current injury phase.

He will come good. I feel the Yoga will be significant in helping him if he continues it.

Hope so.

Giggs said he added ten years to his career and while I think his lifestyle off the field is a tad questionable , on the field you will find it hard to fault to any meaningful degree.

I know we need to find a better quality case manager with expertise on soft tissue management than we have to date.

At least his knees are ok because if they were as sus as the back of his thighs he would be in serious trouble.

I have seen enough of him at Everton and in fact with us to believe he is well worth perservering with.

He is also smart enough I am sure that if he came on this forum its full of naive , silly , crase, mcdonalds driven personnel that look for the lowest common demoninator at the earliest moment.

Is it? I know he knobbed his sister in law and that slag from Big Brothee but you never see Giggs out on the lash and he doesn't smoke.
