Jack Rodwell

Re: Jack Rodwell

Once the Champions League games start then there will be more rotation no way will all the players play 2 games a week no chance. Thats when our squad will be shown. Rodwell is still young and will get his chance its what he does with it that matters. I think the Fernandiho and Yaya pairing is going to be Pellis first choice but I still think there will be rotation dont forget we will have cup games as well to look forward to and in those games its up to the players not starting to show that they deserve a run in the team.

Re: Jack Rodwell

i would have expected a fit Rodwell to at least have made the bench.
Imo would be a waste if this continues. Him and 'Dinho would make a powerful combination
covering for Yaya, willing to get forward and back and can both play football

I think you may have got their roles wrong. Both Rodwell and Fernandhino are box to box midfielders. Yaya used to be one but plays as a holding midfielder now. So yaya will tend to stay back while Rodwell roams forward.

Re: Jack Rodwell

It's clear that one of Garcia/Rodwell had only place on the bench and as Pellegrini sees Garcia as a player able to play CB he had to be the one.

Now it will change Demichelis will probably start with Nastasic vs Stoke, Lescott is the CB option on the bench but still leaves the Garcia vs Rodwell situation.

Rotation will be hard, ad Pellegrini's man management willbe shown how he deals with things like that he are putting good players in the stands every week.

Of course CL and League Cup will come in soon, rotation gets bigger, expect lot more chance for Milner, Jovetic. Also more for Rodwell, but not that much more. I think the first match he will starts willbe the Wigan one. Hope thats not the last until the next round of the cup.

Should start ahead of the dreadful Fernandinho.

<shakes head>

I thought Fernandino was outstanding on Saturday.

He was also picked as MOM by Michael Owen

I would have preferred Jack to be on the bench rather than Garcia

Re: Jack Rodwell

Do you think Rodwell will be used as a CB next Saturday against Stoke? I saw a report that said Pellegrini is going try him there at practice.

Rodwell said himself he sees his future in the heart of defence, but it certainly would be a baptism of fire throwing him in against Stoke but Rodwell played a lot of his youth as a CB and if Pellegrini has enough faith to select him there then so should we, he see's him day in day out and will know what he's capable of.

yep agree with that.

exactly - cannt see how garcia EVER gets ahead of rodwell

garcias one attribute ahead of the likes of yaya etc in midfield is his aerial power - However Rodwell is just as good.........

Re: Jack Rodwell

Rodders has the potential to be one of the best all round midfielders in the game. He's done well as a CB too when called upon for Everton and of the two he should start way ahead of Garcia in that position.
