Jack Wilshere

Never watched him really until the Barcelona and this game but he looks good in the middle, fast and can pick out passes, has the desire needed going forward too, he'd be good for us i reckon but not attainable.

Fabulous player to watch. Plays the game in the perfect spirit, with the touch and passing ability of a Spaniard, plus the reliability, heart, and aggression of an Englishman.

Whenever you watch many of the most talented players, you get the feeling that if you get into them early, they might not fancy it. Wilshere is different.

I would love someone like him at City, who would work wonderfully with De Jong and Silva. Undoubtedly the best young player in the world.

Is this what he said to Mario?

JackShit hasn't exactly pulled The Arse fat out of the fire at The Swamp! I think he is a typical Arse player - wants everything to go his way and sets about the ref if he gets tackled, although it'a quite alright for him to kick the crap out of people. One of Wenger's whingers. Might be a good midfielder but he is feted by being twenty and English. I am open to be surprised if he is the Arse captain and new Bergkamp by the time he is in his mid-twenties.

Nonsense from start to finish.

He's technically perfect and shows awesome vision and maturity. Not sure why you'd hold his age against him. He's the exact opposite to "a typical Arse player" in the way he goes about his business.

Seems to have learnt how to play centre midfield at the age of 20, something Steven Gerrard hasn't managed at age 30. He's a fantastic player improving every week and will be Englands centre midfielder for 10+ years.

I think he is a fantastic player, I would love him at City but as someone else said I think he is one the unabtainable ones.

His attitude completely stinks of the Arsenal self righteous petulance though, well to much to say for a kid.

As much as I agree with you about how good he is on the field, he's too much of a tosser off the pitch for me to like him.

Who cares if you like him. I fucking detest ronaldo but i would drive him to City myself for free if he signed
Oh yes, I'd love for Ronaldo to come here, but Wilshere's a bit of an arrogant tosser for someone who hasn't been in the game long.

At least Ronaldo and Balotelli have been around for a while.

The foul he gave away at the last minute at Nou Camp showed one of his many qualities. The cameras showed a close up and he was getting the player (Pedro possibly, although not sure)off the ball no matter what and you could see the desire and determination in his face to win the ball back in the dying minutes. If the other 10 Arsenal players had looked half that interested then they could've got the last goal to take them through.

-- Sat Mar 12, 2011 8:31 pm --

Over rated over hyped and over arsened. Won't make it for Arsenal or England.

Why would City fans be over-hyping him? they have no reason to mark him out in such a way. If you watched him against Barca, paticularly the first leg he was immense. This as well for a 19 year old who was playing for Bolton last season and has become an Arsenal mainstay this season. If you're going to talk shit don't just list words, try and add something to why you think that.

I think he is a great little player. He is very Spanish in his style and because that is so en vogue at the moment this makes people like him more. He can pass really well and has great movement. That at 19 years old he is holding his own against Barca says it all, especially in the 1st leg at the Emirates. And don't forget if Bendtner had scored from Wilshere's great ball at the Nou Camp, Arsenal would've knocked Barca out on Tuesday.

I was so surprised how Pep Guardiola's comments about him were reported in England because what he actually said was that he was surprised by Wilshere as he did not know him or anything about him before the game at the Emirates. He said he is a top player and a great player for Arsenal and important for the English national team. When he said there are players like him in Barca B that is not an insult, how many other players would get in Barca B? He was saying that Wilshere is lucky to be in Arsenal 1st team because at Barca they are under such pressure to win they cannot put their young talent in the main team not that he is not good enough. Pep was saying he is lucky because of his age not his talent. It was the exact same situation with Fabregas, if he had not gone to Arsenal he would've been in Barca B or on the bench. Pep's response was to an English journo asking would Barca buy Wilshere? Well of course they won't because they produce their own like him. Typical English media twisting things.

Also Wilshere is a real talent and even around Europe they have noticed because for him to come 2nd behind Balotelli in that Italian goldenboy poll is amazing as most people in England had not really heard of Wilshere so if even in Italy they know about him.

If Arsenal ever drop out of Top Four I would imagine there will be quite a few takers for Wilshere.
