Jadon Sancho

Not a bash at Raheem or Sane but I don't think they're consistently productive enough that giving Sancho a couple of games would harm the team. If Navas can get games, I'm sure this lad can. He tore up the U17s Euros, so it'd be a real insult to not at least see what he can do.

I wonder if this is a indication of petulance from him, not being part of the pre-season squad etc.

Because at City, the manager is in control & the club backs him.

I am hoping Pep will start to bring through kids, as I think the whole thing was designed for him to do that, but we have a problem now imo, that the academy has produced nothing for the first team & it's something we need to put straight by getting a few on the pitch, even if it's just late in games.

The club needs to change it's approach if they are genuinely determined to make the academy produce first teamers then. Clearly the manager is under huge amounts of pressure for immediate results and that has created a disconnect between the need for trophies today and building a future dynasty populated with homegrown talent.

Timps on FB just said he's on his way with the EDS team and that he's (also) staying. Any truth in this?

The EDS squad and 18s left on Monday for pre season training camp, he didn't travel with them unless he's joining them late?

He's not not in the squad for petulance reasons. He's not in it cos he's not signed a contract.

Also, he's 17. Of course he's immature. We forget this - he will be ridiculously influenced by those around him. We can't treat his contract situation in the same way we do with Yaya. It's incredibly delicate given his age and the scenario he's in. He's probably got about ten million people in his ear telling him different things.

My worry is that we call him petulant or treat him like a bad apple. He isn't. He's a good hard working kid. Very polite too. But hes a kid at the end of the day and kids act like kids.

Agree, have Brahim and Phil signed contracts then? I can understand our youngsters getting disenchanted at 20 years old if they can't see a way to the first team but not at 17.At that age, surely it is the way they are treated and the facilities at their disposal. We are still the most attractive option for him, at least for the next couple of years. Hope this sorts itself out.
