he isn't in our side though. the majority of the time hes on the bench. of course hes good enough for our squad and for a side in the top ten.
No he isn't. Next up Wilfred Bony he did a job also! still shite in our team but hey he did a job. Yep he did a job keeping a promising youngster our of the side be it even a start from the bench. Navas is awful. One good cross in 20 attempts isn't good enough. Navas isn't game changer he never has been. People need to stop being happy clappers.

He doesn't do a job ffs. He is fucking useless and shouldn't be in the side. If you think he is good enough for our side you need to give your head a wobble. He ain't good enough for any side that has aspirations to finish in the top half of the prem. But he still gets more chances than our best youngsters. Bizzare

He isn't good enough for Sunderland.

navas isnt in our team though, hes on the bench near enough every game. this thread is about sancho, dont know why you are getting so worked up about navas. he hasn't kept sancho out of the side either, sancho isn't ready for the first team yet imo. maybe the odd cup game, but hes still very young.

Simple because players that offer fuck all like Navas keep youngsters from breaking through. Please remind me the last time Navas contributed anything like a significant performance on the pitch. Pls feel free to go back 2-3 seasons if you want. Ah now you see. He never has offered anything. He is a shockingly poor player that should not be anywhere near our first team.

There are young players that are ahead of sancho at the moment
Sancho will probably end up better than them but Roberts Zinchenko Celina Moreno Unal are more suited to the 1st team. Ithink people want to rush him into the 1st team because he is seen playing regularly in Manchester but some of the players above are playing at a higher level and all bar Roberts are full international with their countries. I would hope that Delph Navas Nolito are released but we have Garcia Iheanacho Mooy Nasri plus all the young lads on loan to consider and I feel that Sancho Diaz and Foden are still two years behind these players

Not sure what you're basing the idea on that Roberts, Zinchenko, Celina, Moreno and Unal are all more suited to the 1st team than Sancho is potentially? Sancho is almost the perfect Guardiola kind of winger, technically speaking. Unless you mean suited cos they're literally older so closer by default?

There is an argument to say there are players in front of Sancho but when names like Celina and Unal are quoted I feel you start to lose the argument. Roberts maybe, Moreno I don't know about but Celina and Unal are such different types of player they should not be brought into the debate.

Twosips You are right What I mean is that currently they are better. I said at the top of comment that Sancho will probably be better than any of them but I think it will.take him a couple of years to catch up physically. I do not expect him to be as strong or mature as the players that are years ahead of him but if picking a team at start of next season I would not have him ahead of these guys. Taking on Shawcross and Harry Maguire is a year or two away.

This summer is crucial. Pep has to offload those in the squad that can't contribute in the ways he needs them to, or those who are at the end of their careers.

We can't replace them all with academy players but we have to integrate three or four and give them game time.

Do that and we show that there is an end goal and that there's a reason to stay at city.

Pep will do this I think. And he will take several on the preseason tour. Sancho would be crazy to go to Arsenal now. The situation with Wenger is uncertain and we have Pep and his reputation alone secures players. A simple chat between Pep and Sancho probably buries this rumour.

This pretty much sums it up for me.
I think we will see alot of this lad and a few others in pre season. Whethere they go on loan after, or stay and compete for first team will be seen. I just dont want to see another tosin situation develop next season.

I can only presume Navas ran over his dog, there must be 25% of his posts now about his opinion on the lad. Safe to say he's not a fan.

The fact that him and Sancho play on opposite sides (almost exclusively) seems to have escaped his attention. It's just as well for Sane that he's as good as he is or he'd be getting pelters instead.

You can't stop playing an experienced, highly paid and highly successful player in order to give game time to a 16-year-old who may or may not be ready to play the occasional game and is certainly not fit enough yet to live the lifestyle of a Premier League footballer. The game doesn't work that way.

I thought Jadon had signed a new contract last year. Had a search and transfer market has him signed until 2020. Don't know how reliable they are though.

That's probably a scholarship form he's signing.

Maybe it is, but the article mentions him being at City for the next 5 years without giving any contract dates. I am sure he won't be out of contract this summer if it is a scholarship though.

These rumours are undoubtably based on truth, as every club in the country will want Sancho, but any of us could write a similar piece without even researching it & be more or less correct. All the clubs will be sniffing around all of our best young players. It's what they do. It's unlikely he'll go anywhere.

I don't think there is CURRENTLY any problem whatsoever with Sancho 'not getting game time' or Diaz, or any of the younger kids, they haven't really been ready for it, they are/were too young & have no real argument they merit it, 'yet'.

The problem is the fact that most of the older kids in their position, have resisted any poaching, stayed at the club & been 'rewarded' by not even getting a sniff of the first team when many did, absolutely, merit it. The 'new' academy, has been open a few years now, so kids & their parents have actual history & timelines, to judge how other kids were treated by the club & whether continuing with City is the best option for them.

I think it is, because I believe (perhaps misguidedly but we'll see) that Pep is a vastly different animal to Pellegrini & that he will be actively trying to get as many kids as possible, onto the pitch in the first team. He has to balance it with prioritising success, but he will try, I believe.

If it doesn't happen though, we will lose a lot of the best kids to our rivals, some at 16 & some won't even sign in the first place. The next few years will decide whether our academy succeeds or is overtaken by our rivals, who are all frantic about catching us & WILL play the best kids in their teams, even if it's only for 20 mins.

I have been going to 'kids' games & training sessions on & off since I was younger than most kids at the club, & Pellegrini's reign has more or less finished me with it. I've never in all those years, seen such a wealth of potential talent squandered & mishandled & I've seen my arse with it, so I'll go just a few times a season now, until I see proof I'm not wasting my time.

If I feel like that, then there is a decent chance at least some parents & advisors have a similar feeling.

The Academy was opened 26 months ago and they were training there a month or two previously. Hardly "a few years".

Twenty six months isn't 'a few years' ? What the exactly is it then ? Do they have a Quantum Physics department there or something & I'm missing the true function ?

And it's an absolutely ridiculous notion that the academy only existed when the new buildings were 'opened' . As if before that, nothing happened & none of the kids were actually being coached anywhere, or they had to live like tramps outside the huge indoor training facility at Moss side, where SWP, Ireland, Michael Johnson, Micah Richards, Sturridge, etc all came through to play Premier League football. All that happened was they moved.

And of course since that move, we've produced....

Whilst I’m pretty sure that Sancho won’t leave, it wouldn’t surprise me if over the next few years more kids start to do what Tyrese Campbell did – spend 2-3 years in our academy making the most of the top class facilities and coaching and then leave for a club where they know they stand more of a chance of breaking into the first team. But I guess that’s the price we’re going to have to pay when we have so many talented youngsters.

It's unavoidable that will happen with a few, even if t academy runs perfectly, but what we don't want, is kids like Sancho to see City as a place where you go to get the best training & eduction, but then go somewhere else to work as there is no chance of a job. Because there may come a point, where oour competitors offer a decent enough standard of both & a fair chance of a job at the end of it.

We need to get one through & get it started again, producing for our team. Our academy has dried up.
