Jadon Sancho

Who cares what folk on here think? Thats basically them trying to convince themselves that he's overrated, we never dropped a bollock letting him go, he made a bad decision leaving, bla bla bla.

He's absolutely fantastic, not seen many his age as good as him either. He has the world at his feet.
They're quite correct stating that though, if a 16 year old turns down £30,000 a week then you can't blame the club for selling him.

Just for clarity I think he's a fantastic talent and could be a great player (I don't entirely buy into the medias hype quite yet).

Pep has stated that he doesn’t think Sancho will be back at City while he is in charge, so it’s all rather academic.

He didn't really say that though. He just babbled on a bit about how he didn't want to be here when he left, so he doesn't think he wants to come back, but never say never.

Obviously if he agreed to come back he'd want to be here, so that pretty much makes that entire thing moot.

At the end of the day Pep cares most about being the best and having the best players. It was only a little while ago that Laporte was never going to get another chance to join City because he fucked Pep and Txiki over by changing his mind at the last minute. A few months later we still need a CB and hes still the best available, so we got him.

You can, actually because money wasnt the issue. On the offering money front, the club did great, it was everywhere else they fell down.

Sancho took less money at Dortmund, about €20,000 was just first contract. He didn't want more than 30k/week, he wanted to believe hed be brought through into the first team.

So no you can't criticise them for not offering him money, You can criticise the club for bringing no kids through in the decade before Sancho was faced with that decision, you can criticise them for chasing a past it Sanchez (and failing) instead of thinking about one fo the most talented kids in the world sitting in the academy and in general creating a situation where one of the most promising prospects in years thought he had to leave to further his career.

Who in his short time has shown no loyalty at all to the clubs who have trained, educated and paid him well, already alledged to be orchestrating a move from Dortmund I know most footballers are mercenaries but some just aren't worth the trouble.

Sancho is no more a mercenary than Sterling or Bernardo. I don't know about you but I'd say they were were our trouble?

He doesn't owe us anything, we paid peanuts for him, got £9m upfront and potentially 4x that in total when he gets his mega move.

Looks a player, but at times last night his 1st touch was dreadfull, on the city front he didn’t want to stay with us & you cant force a player to stay, a loss talent wise but hey ho i only want players at city who want to be at city

Got some footballing education at City. Club got a fee for him and will possibly get more in the future depending on transfers, etc. Good for him.

I know it’s just one match, and may not have been his best game by country mile, however, the player I was more impressed with, despite the fact it was a short cameo was Hudso-Odoi.

They both will improve in the future. There’s nothing one can do that Sancho left. Such is life. Nonetheless, I think he is quite overhyped. The assist for Sterling wasn’t perfect, as the commentators were raving all night. Yes, it may be one bad game, however, the media need to stop the pandering and fawning. It’s probably what causes the tension and such in here.

How do you work that out?

Both Bernardo and Raheem have recently signed contract extensions.

They’re real trouble, aren’t they?

Sterling left his childhood club for the club that offered him the most money, and then left liverpool as soon as his first senior contract got towards its end.

Bernardo forced a move away from Benfica for only 15m despite being hailed as their most talented prospect in a decade because he wasn't getting brought through in his preferred position quickly enough.

We love both of these guys, neither are what youd call mercenaries, and Sancho has simply acted just like them.

The only reason people on here are calling him a mercenary is because he left us rather than joined us.

Did he go AWOL before the US tour?
No, because he wouldn't sign a contract we had to remove him from the party (presuming he was in it). There were rumours that he threw a wobbly and didn't turn up for training but the other narrative is that we told him to take time off and think about it. No idea which is true and I don't think it's particularly important anyway.

I'm just glad he never slated the club like that snake Milner.

He was just 16 when he decided he was leaving (17 when he actually left), tell me which club (let alone a top one) gives any game time to a 16 year old?

It's alright, take your time...

BTW we paid £60 million for Mahrez, not £70 million and it was a year after Sancho left so for you and the other idiots who don't understand simple timelines, the two aren't connected excepting the fact that Sancho may (only may) have played in his stead if only he'd been more patient. Were we enquiring about him previously? Undoubtedly, we would be looking at multiple players at all times. If a young player can't see past that then good luck to them elsewhere.

The fact that he's done so well since leaving is actually immaterial.

Look people are allowed to have an opinion on the subject, if you don't agree that is also fine but don't come on being the **** from the off and now throwing out idiots, which is kind of ironic really.

So run along and learn to read the posts you actually quoted.

Here it is for you "we signed Mahrez for 70m a season later," so it looks likely that I knew he signed a season after Sancho left or I wouldn't have fucking typed it now would I?

So you just made a wanker of yourself with your little timeline dig, tut, tut idiots indeed eh.

Everton - Rooney 16
Liverpool - Owen 17
Man Utd - Giggs 16

Is that enough for you?

The fact that he has done so well inside of two years is the thing that actually makes it not immaterial ffs.

I very much doubt Sancho expected himself to be in City's first team at 16 or 17 for that matter, it was more the fact he saw absolutely no chance it was going to happen, it still isn't happening for Foden and he should be on the bench at the minimum every week and ready to come on if we hammering somebody and playing against lesser teams.

The other factor is the more younger players see the likes of Sancho leave City and "make it" so quickly from youth player to top teams first team to International it will become harder to get them to show patience, again Foden as a City fan will be different as he will only want to play for us and not look to rock the boat.

Don't bother with a reply, I have no time to be arguing the toss with a person like yourself for the rest of the day.

Oh dear, touched a nerve there did I? They do say the truth hurts, sorry about that flower.

You mean like he already is? By the looks of it you don't even read your own posts.

sterling and bernardo both left to play for better teams

£50m? They would be asking for at least double that.

I wouldn't be against the idea of re-signing him but it would probably require Sane leaving first.

100m not a chance this summer and for that much you could be an established experience player. In 18 months to 2 years if he improves more maybe.
