Jadon Sancho

Has any other 'export' had as many column inches as this guy? I bet a pound to a fucking dollar had he come from anyone else's academy the story would have been about being unable to hack it in the PL.
What did you expect though? It’s not about agenda or anything else either side, it’s about a club having ploughed millions into the best academy in the country bar none, but losing one of its brightest prospects because we kept spending on ready made players, forcing the kid into a decision which is paying off for him. Chelsea get plenty of stick for not playing Loftus-Cheek, but he’s not moved clubs, let alone countries. You’re right, if it was another club it probably would’ve been highlighted less, but the reason is clear why it’s being highlighted more here.

Hi fantasy, press talk I know but Dortmund wanting 100m. Can I ask how are you so sure we don't have any buyback or at least a sell on clause? Seems a little amiss of the club if that is the case? Cheers
What i have been told.

The club, from a negotiating stance, were pretty much dead in the water, when Jadon demanded to leave.

It is indeed, but not for the reason you state. The Fail in particular has run a barrage of Sancho 'non-stories' since the moment he walked out of City, and whilst the academy angle may be partly responsible, the overwhelming reason for the media's interest is because it represents yet another golden opportunity for them to get the legions of armchair rags, dippers and gooner dribblers that infest this planet, clicking furiously away with one hand, whilst wiping away the drool with the back of the other, as they over excite each other about City being a graveyard for young prospects.

I agree about all the publicity this lad Is getting, but city did everything they could to keep him and we couldn’t guarantee him game time and you wouldn’t expect any top team would do that, anyway good luck to the lad hope he becomes a star for England.

This all day. I'm sure the rag/cockney media will be all over it trying to influence agents to push for a £100m move for a kid who's played a handful of games in Germany. Their ideal scenario would be Hazard to Madrid then Sancho to Chelsea to replace him, giving them a very big stick with which to beat us.

Doubt any of that will happen in reality though. He'll probably fade in Germany and end up at Crystal Palace on the bench.

I'm sure a London move will happen sooner rather than later

What else do you think we could have done to keep him then considering he would have been just 16 years old when he decided to leave?
Sent him on loan maybe? A season somewhere to see how he developed with the promise of first team squad depending on that development? Maybe we did, who knows? Maybe he just saw his future elsewhere. His decision to leave for another European giant has paid off, so good luck to him. It was always going to be the case we would get negative press though.

Bought from Watford and left two years later. Doesn't really make him an academy product. Just a gun for hire.
