Jadon Sancho

First refusal on a player is the biggest waste of paper in a contract. Players choose their next destination based on who wants them and who pays the most not who speaks to them first. We know that better than most
Think it means if another club comes sniffing with the intention of placing a bid, the transfer won't come as a surprise to us. We'll be notified and given the opportunity to compete for his signature. Not really a waste.

Didn't he fall out with us and go AWOL when Pep only invited Foden and Diaz on the US tour last year?
Can't see him coming back to City after that. I've heard Txiki doesn't go for Prima Donna types although he is a brilliant winger

I remember it the other way around. He wasn't included on the US Tour because of going AWOL from training beforehand and not making his intentions clear while we had the 30k/week contract offer on the table. I could be wrong but I think the club was quite concerned as he wasn't even returning calls/texts for a while.

Good luck to the lad though. Hell of a talent. I'm interested to see how his form holds if (or probably when) he is a starter every game but it seems Dortmund are using him superbly at present. Nothing to indicate he won't take it in his stride as he has thus far. And if he does continue to develop then I'd welcome him back with open arms if the price is right.

Absolutely no hard feelings from me over how a 16/17 yr old perhaps didn't handle his exit in an entirely respectful manner. Particularly if some of those around him weren't giving him the best advice and having a club the size of Dortmund with their history of developing young players no doubt in his ear.

He is a huge talent IMO, the equal of Foden. Time will tell if he delivers on his talent but the club moves on, even if he did get away.

Why? Young English talent leaves club regularly challenging for titles for a German giant of a club - and has what can only be described as a roaring start to his career there. It’s getting the coverage it warrants, with a bit more thrown in because of our transfer policy and the academy he’s left. Not sure why people are baffled by that.

It certainly doesn't warrant the air time the bbc alone is giving the lad since he moved let alone kicked a ball

Is it different in any way to Mahrez throwing his toys out of the pram when he wanted to come here?

In modern football if a player wants to leave, they strike and it works.

As some have already mentioned, the coverage he is getting is way over the top ( good luck to the lad) but in my opinion the main reason the coverage is so much is to remind those that didn’t know that he actually was at city, but snubbed us for a move abroad (the snubbed bit was from bbc this morning ) and for certain media outlets to have a gloat over it also, throw in think it was sky waffling on about £100 mill bids or whatever and linked to big clubs in premier league Scousers, rags,Chelsea and spurs .Wonder also is it a bit of mischief making hoping to stir up unrest amongst the likes of Foden and Diaz to show your better off elsewhere, would this coverage be so over the top if he had fucked off from the rags or scousers think we know the answer to that..
