Hughesless was putting him further down the pecking order with every week that went by, he was offered a contract and said not only did he want more money but also that he wanted to play football and Chelsea offered him both, at first. Chelsea then too started putting him further down the pecking order and he went out on loan as he wanted to play football. He's been at Liverpool but gone out on loan from there too as he wanted to play football. He's even said in the past that he never really wanted to leave City but he wanted to play football.Sancho puts me in mind of Sturridge. An emerging great talent at City but the hype got to him and he started trying to dictate to the club and put in a ridiculous pay demand for a teenager. His move to Chelsea didn't really work out nor his time at Liverpool. I wonder, in hindsight, if he would have achieved even more had he been better advised and not quite so arrogant.
I
He isn’t rushing him in the same way Pep isn’t. Southgate I mean. It’s the best way to handle him. It's all a bit odd this hype over him. Foden has shown he has the ability to retain the ball, make a pass and finish. England are crying out for a creative midfielder who can do these things but he's wasting his time at the under 21's.

Fair comment, I do wonder how Southgate intends on using him too, he doesn't use wingers so where does he fit? He's already shoe horning Sterling into a role that doesn't suit him, will he do the same with Sancho?

Maybe he rates Foden higher and can see he will need nurturing into a more important and constant role than Sancho? Maybe picking Sancho he is sending the message he will pick players on form.Begs the question, why rush Sancho?
Possibly because he has more minutes (albeit still very few) and certainly more assists. That puts him marginally ahead at this very moment in time.Begs the question, why rush Sancho?
