Jadon Sancho

I think some on here are simply just offended he left, or dare left.

And the reverse is there are others on here who want to use Jadeon as a stick to beat the club.

This is possibly the greatest period in the Club's history but some want to spend their time moaning about Sancho.

I say forget the ones who want to leave and celebrate the ones who want to stay and create history.

What a bullshit post.

An academy player is not going to damage our results when the other 10 players are multimillion pound internationals.

People will say 'it will take something exceptional to make it to this side'. Well Pep gave 22 La Masia players debuts in 4 years at arguably the greatest club side ever.

The debutants in the ‘Pep Team’

2008/09: Busquets, Thiago, Xavi Torres, Muniesa, Botía and Abraham

2009/10: Fontàs, Dos Santos, Soriano, Gai Assulin and Bartra

2010/11: Oriol Romeu, Sergi Gómez, Miño, Nolito, Montoya and Sergi Roberto

2011/12: Cuenca, Deulofeu, Rafinha, Tello and Riverola

The players in bold made more than ten appearences. Pedro made just 2 appearences under Rijkaard so his development we attribute to Pep. Jeffren Suarez made one appearence two years before Pep arrived and then played 33 times for Pep. He scored in the 5-0 win over Real Madrid.

Jeffren has made four transfers since leaving and now plays for Grasshoppers in Switzerland. Cuenca plays in Israel. Muniesa I believe was at Stoke. Rafinha joined Pep at Bayern.

Most of the list are not familiar names - yet they got the chance to play for the first team. They got to play with Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Villa, Puyol, Alves etc.

So I don't buy the argument that you have to be exceptional just to get a look in. In fact I would say playing with top players makes it easier.

How did a guy who made 30 appearences in a season for Barcelona now play his trade in Israel at just 27?

I would answer because you can be carried by the real stars. Cuenca, Tello and co were fall back players. Fresh legs as subs or to fill a gap. Opponents focus on Messi and the big players. The kids can play without pressure and fear. How their careers pan out post Barca is a real reflection on their talent but your deficiencies can be masked for a bit of time. And academy players get the culture and run through brick walls. There is extra motivation to do well.
Cool.

I'm just not so needy that i require an academy kid on the bench simply because they are an academy kid.If like Foden they force their way in on merit, then fantastic.

Agree and the club obviously wanted him to stay with their contract offer. He saw things differently. The media are lapping it up as another opportunity to get at the club, but that's nothing new since we have arrived on the scene and showing their favourites up.

If it works out for him, then so be it.

Foden seems to be enjoying his stint so enjoy it while it lasts Jadon. The rags can point you to plenty of " overnight successes " and " best since.............. " who are now in oblivion .

I have never seen so much hype attached to a young player since Rooney I think. I am sure if he had achieved exactly what he has here as opposed to Dortmund we wouldn't have heard a peep. He hasn't exactly ripped up trees anyway over there in a league deemed inferior to the premier league by many.

He’s got more assists than any other player in Europe..

Mate, it’s great passion in your words but it’s all coming from a city fan, not a player. He might have thought different about the club, academy or even pep. He’s thinking about his career, not like you as a long time city fan is thinking of it. He’s playing in front of 80 odd thousand fans in one of Europe’s top clubs, and is now a full international. It’s not going wrong for him. I think some on here are simply just offended he left, or dare left.

i don't get how people see him a first team player now and a full international ??? come matey please the lad needs grounding and bringing back to earth before the smoke the media are blowing up his ass will pop his big head, the only thing the lad needs is time to grow and learn in the right way and so many young players are one season wonders because the media hype, and the next thing agent gets on the phone and want him getting a big and better deal and holds the club to ransom if they don't cave in and give into him and his demands

i am a fair person and yes am a blue but because of what we have been to old 3rd division and having to live in the shadow of united and the glory years, i have seen so many youth players at so called big clubs like united being called the new this the new that and then gone within 12 month sold too sunderland or WBA or a free move to preston or wigan

well done Sancho, whether he was arrogant or City moved him or whatever, i dont know, but he's taking his chance with relish. Not easy for a young lad to move abroad but he's performing in a Champions League team, not some dutch also rans or Spanish division 2 outfit. Good for him.
An interesting opinion, so is playing in a first team dutch league or second division spanish league worse than being a reserve in a german league?, who would you play Reus Pulisic or Sancho, ps Angelino had a good game vs tottenham

@domalino Perhaps it has been articulated elsewhere but why do you believe it was unavoidable? Admittedly I have not followed the story closely but it would appear it was a case of a talented yet prioritized player who opted for the apparent assurance of playing time. Not even a case of wages since player supposedly made verbal agreement for improved terms at City but reneged.

Would instead suggest player was given some promises with Dortmund and that’s always easier when you are a desperate buyer
