Jadon Sancho

You don’t keep your best young talents by offering them contracts, they need a trust from manager to rely on them like what Dortmund have done with Sancho.

They sold Dembele for +90m.”, got Sancho and gave him #7 shirt and put faith in him to replace Dembele.

Now Dortmund are top of the league and Sancho is their star.
So it’s not Marco Reus, their captain then?
Or their striker Paco Alcacer?

I thought he was excellent. 22nd best man on the pitch. In all seriousness i cant judge him on that game but Dortmund were poor and we were excellent
And yet the media and papers just want to talk about Jadon Sancho. He plays for Dortmund now.

I have a small interest in how he does because he used to be a City man, but the coverage is completely OTT. The story in the English papers this morning should be about your players and Spurs instead they're talking about Sancho. The reason is of course they thought DOrtmund were going to win and had already written their story and just twist it a little.

Are you suggesting that we should have done something similar with Raheem and stick the boy in the first team?

Humans make mistakes, as well as Pep & Txiki.

Which one is it?

If Dortmund phoned Utd or Liverpool & offered them Sancho for 40 mil, they would snap their fucking hands off.

We would too, if it wasn't for the fact we've let him go.

Read my post, 40m for a talent wouldn't be a huge leap, I wasn't questioning his talent.

I was questioning the myth that he had a "great" game and the hysteria on here about him leaving.

Looked physically weaker last night, as too did a number of Dortmund players, than the Spurs players. Think we tend to underestimate the physical nature of the game here whilst overestimating the ability of young players to make a seamless transition from youth football into the first team.

He was the best player on either side, first half & Spurs changed their plan, in order to cope.

For an 18 year old kid, playing away from home in the Champs Lg, in front of 75k people, it's fucking tremendous. If he was a City player doing that for England at Wembley, this forum would be going fucking spare with joy about it, but because he left, we have to put our fingers in our ears & sing 'la lal la' to blot out the praise.

It isn't great, at all, that he slipped through our fingers. It might turn out a Ryan Giggs level miss.

We should actually be very concerned by it & try to find a way of stopping it from happening again.

He is a stellar talent and we did miss out. You cannot force a player to stay and he wanted to leave but I think last night did show that he wasn't quite ready to replace our first team, though he probably will be in 3 years or so, just like Foden.

I saw a 17 year old playing at Wembley this season in front of 72k and owning a £50m Italian international.
