Jadon Sancho

What I don't get is that the criticism is mostly for City. Look at the U17 WC winning team from 2017, and only 2 players have more than 5 first team appearances in a top division team, and both came through our academy. Where is the similar criticism of Chelsea for Hudson-Odoi, or for Liverpool for Ryan Brewster or Man U for Gomez? Three 1st team appearances between them!

I don't criticise City for not playing Sancho, or for not guaranteeing him games.

However I believe his departure was caused by City's terrible record of giving opportunities to players between 18 and 21 who've come through the academy.

Sancho is a result of that mismanagement and we need to learn from it IMO.

I personally disagree with the stick that sancho gets on this forum, every player is entitled to make a decision according to their own thinking and best interest which sancho did as well.

Whether one agrees with his approach or not is another thing but its a fact that he wouldn't have got the game time he is getting at dortmound right now who also happen to be one of the best teams in europe and are at top of the league with sancho leading the assist chart with 6 assist.

About the question of him getting media hype, i dont know but he is currently performing wonderfully well with 4 goals and 6 assist in 11 matches. If one of our own 18 year old had such stats we wouldn't stop praising him here.

Please tell me who you would drop from our team (you can include the bench) to accommodate Sancho?

It would be different if he was still here though and gettin opportunities. If he was in form like now I’d potentially have him over Mahrez.

However it’s a first team squad now and every player has a chance. Can you never change or drop first team players for young players ?? Are you telling me that’s never happened before and we should never do that?

Btw I’m not saying play young players from the start every game. But right now other then foden none of our young players for the last 6 years maybe have actually had a proper chance in our team. If we can never drop/ bring in youth players as you suggest then we’ll never have a youth player as a regular starter.

Sometimes when they are talented enough you just need to give them a start or more minutes. Ie trust them. Or more like foden will leave

Awaits BBC evening news report on City and Sancho, unbelievable ! If he was still playing for City you'd have still never heard of him, let alone play for England !

You're right it is unbelievable. This is the MAIN news as well, not Iocal or sports news! I started the BBC bias thread and their bias is still going strong. It's got more coverage than our record smashing season.

At least they didn't mention City, I'll give them that

You are probably right as he would hardly have ever played and we would still be arguing about if he is too young to be given a proper chance.

How could we have managed him different/better?

Shown him that previous players have had first team opportunities if they've excelled in the academy or on loan. Guys like Barker, Denayer, Roberts, Maffeo, etc. needed to get a chance or two.

Losing Sancho is the cost of the mismanagement of those players.
