Jadon Sancho

Should we really criticize a system that stops clubs tying young people to long contracts? I don't think so. It guarantees youngsters the chance to realize their potential as they see fit not as some limited company (sometimes dubiously run) sees fit. If City or any other team loses a potential star now and then, it's worth it to protect the interest of the individual. It gives some of them some power in a business that sometimes chews kids up and spits them out.

Two of their players mentioned trying to counteract his threat.

Yes, the 18 year old kid isn't yet better than Sané or Mahrez at tracking back.

So he therefore didn't actually frighten Spurs first half.more than any other Dortmund player & more than any Spurs player worried them.

Except he did, & everyone saw it, even including some City fans.

WTF does that have to do with change of tactics to stop Sancho? Quite the opposite, they knew he was a weak link.

Spurs just went more aggressive and targeted Sancho's lack of discipline.

No, no, no.

That doesn't suit the narrative that City cocked up and/or we shouldn't have bought Mahrez.

Good luck to him, he'll learn loads more from starting games than just sitting on the bench or coming on for the last 5 minutes in games we've already won.
Except that is what the loan system is for, which i am sure city would have sorted for him even to Dortmund. Sancho is a good player riding the anti city publicity wave and will always be a W***** until he at least acknowledges the part city played in his development, as for how he is playing it is easier to see how many games they win without Reus

I’m pretty sure he acknowledged City when he left us -

Presumably he’s not a wanker anymore then?

All of City's players were outmuscled by Sissoko.
yes but did they all go into their shells for the rest of the game? I'm not calling him out as he is only 18 and this is to be expected. I think the pursuit of Sanchez was wrong(easy with hindsight) but he shouldn't be playing against Burnley etc Shame really as I think he would have played more than Foden this year.

Personally I don't see the point in willing him to fail or taking pleasure out of a bad game for him or dips in form if/when they come. He's 18, so off games, tactical/positional deficiencies will show because he's still learning, he will also probably have some dips in form to overcome unless he's really lucky.

I think that's the benefit to Peps approach of easing them in, perhaps he's guarding against some of the above. Some players come from nowhere after being given a chance and surprise even the coaching staff but those are the exception. Putting a promising player in at the deep end, unprepared and letting them get completely lost in a game could set a player back a few years, if they are confidence players. There will still be a learning curve but at least tactically you know Pep will have had them well drilled for years before they make the step up. If they still don't get it after having years of Pep and the world class players in the first team to learn from, then perhaps it wasn't meant to be. Maybe you could say in that instance that maybe a different manager and system would suit them better, maybe they aren't quite top level player but can still have good careers with everything they have managed to take on board. I don't think there is a one solution fits all answer to bringing through top players, if there were, everyone would already be doing it.

Rumours on the BBC web page that united looking at making a 70 million bid for him. He wouldn’t go there would he....?

Why wouldn’t he?
If you played for City from a young age and appreciated all that had been done for him in that time as expressed in his farewell message, would you then join our most hated rivals so soon I know I wouldn’t .I hope he rejects it if true.

He left Watford for City. Left City for Dortmund and will eventually leave Dortmund. He has no loyalty, these clubs are his stepping stone`s. If he play`s for City I`ll support him, If he doesnt I wont give him a thought.

We bought him from Watford. He spent more years there than with us. Plenty of teams wanted him from Watford as he was clearly a special player, even then. Doesn’t really owe us much.

If he signs and plays for them I think a lot of people including me will give it a second thought, especially so soon after leaving City
