Firstly, try reading my original post. Where did I say that I am "saying he is using the death of his son as an excuse" My final line was "I have great sympathy for his loss, but please don't use that as an excuse". That wasn't aimed at him, but at other posters' comments. However, that, in your view, shows a lack of empathy, does it?
Secondly, and once again, you are being extremely judgemental about me, without even knowing me. Of course, people react differently to tragedy - I've had to counsel both my children when their mother and grandparents died in a short period of time, and recently my brother's family whilst sitting at his bedside watching him die of cancer. Each time, I've had to deal with my own demons. Obviously, I have a heart of stone
Thirdly, I've read through this entire thread. There are many more comments regarding Livermore which I thought were a little over the top, but refrained from commenting. Perhaps you can, once again, pick up your sword of righteousness and take them to task.
Finally, a point which, in my opinion, sheds a great deal of light on the facts surrounding this case. According to an Independent article yesterday, Livermore failed a drugs test on 25 April after a win at Palace. His son died stillborn on 19 May following a caesarian operation. The gist of the article was that this tragedy, and no-one can dispute that it was a tragedy, caused him to take to drugs. However, he failed a drugs test almost a month previously, so how can this be used as an reason not to ban him?
Your serve.
