According to various interviews he was torn on which national team to represent but decided to stick with his nation of birth since he was born in Stuttgart.

Undoubtedly when Jamal made this decision this gave the green light for Bayern to roll out the red carpet & acquire his services.

Yep, smart move for kids who want to break in at Prem level, but at stacked squads. probably see more of it going forward. If Bayern wasnt a mess last couple of years or get a decent manager, could see him extending again.

Kimmich, musiala, sane, Davies, neuer all running contracts down and looking like they want out
Mane in and out last season
Kane on a big wage scoring a ton of goals but the team wing nothing
If Alonso picks the dippers it’s another blow
Add that to the fact it’s a league they should walk every year
