I agree but last season was a difficult one for an emerging player to make his mark. Even in the good times we are no longer the kind of club who is able to develop players slowly. One big match tends to follow another and the likes of McAtee rarely get to start in big games. I don't know what this lads ceiling is but doubt very much it reaches the heights of a Palmer or a Foden.That’s far too sensible an approach for us. We demand such players come off the bench or out of the wilderness and take games by the scruff of the neck, dictate play, and score hattricks willy-nilly.
