No, it has to be at a club affiliated to the English FA. Nationality is irrelevant but the club location is important.Home grown doesn't mean English it means British. Anyone who trained at a team in the UK and NI qualifies.

Thats how I understand the rule to work too.I don't think that's true, Scotland are a completely seperate nation as far as FIFA are concerned and neither McGeady or Naismith count as homegrown
