The man is a cvnt,but he has the right not to wear a poppy.

To be honest,this almost enforced requirement of having to wear a poppy pisses me right off as,given it primarily represents freedom and respect,there is a definite irony to such a process,and no one should have to face persecution,abuse or shame if they choose not to.

My dad died whilst a serving member of the UDR....my maternal grandfather served in Africa and Italy during WW2. my paternal grandfather was in the airforce during WW2 and was shot down and killed over France.

I dont wear a poppy as i dont give toss about whether im seen to be wearing one, how i feel about those who died during conflict is up to me, you dont need to know and i dont need to tell you....it basically symbolises faux, misplaced nationalism....similarly:

Its Derry...everyone (well, nearly) over here says Derry...especially those who live there....the people who say Londonderry only say it to make a point, to deliberately be heard saying it.

McClean doesnt support the IRA ffs, he comes from a republican community scarred by the actions of the British Army and loyalists...to be seen by his community to be supporting such a campaign would be hypocritical. Why should he do so, just because he has an english employer? An employer who wants to pay him his salary. Yes you can argue its "really" about commemorating the war dead...but its not just that is it? As this thread clearly shows.
