TBH all this one season wonder stuff is bullshit. o'niel payed 12 mil for him, he was pretty quality at newcastle just playing around shit players. brilliant winger and box to box, his mentality and versatility is superb, will prob go to the world cup and if were gonna spend 24 mil on lescott then we definitely should on this guy though! i cant see him going to united because they wont spend that much. if marwood wants him, we'll get him. real question is; does marwood really want him?

Millner would be a great buy, if champions league is on the horizon, its all about havin a great squd, and face it if nowt else Milner is week in and week out a 100% man. Regardless of how many games he's played.

I think this clearly shows how influential in transfers Marwood is. I rate Milner, and think he's been very good this year, but does he have the capability to step up to the next level? The whole thing smacks a bit of the Gareth Barry or Jolean Lescott deal for me. I think he would be a decent addition, but I'm not sure if he would be more than a squad player who plays ever other match. And, as with most English players, I wonder about his ability to maintain possession and tactical discipline, especially under pressure.
My other bed bug is I think we need players who have won things. 25m on a lad who's had a few decent seasons and one very good one is somewhat concerning for me. And also, as has been pointed out above, I wonder about his ability to grow as a player.
