James Milner

Yet another shit game from Jimmy. Get rid..
Thought he was good yesterday.

Yup decent assits and covered lots of ground

We have the creative players but like any top team we also need players whom do lots of the dirty side of the game to allow the other players to perform

Think he is a top quality squad player who can miss 10 games through not getting picked but then plays like his life depends on it when he gets the nod. I agree with the posters who say technically he's not up there with the likes of Silva, Nasri, YaYa etc., but then we already know this; what he does bring is grit, determination and a personal character which means he never, ever hides, even when he does fuck up.

Another point that I think gets missed is that Milner never really has the chance to find any continuity or rhythm because of his sporadic game time. Just like Dzeko struggles when he isn't playing, I think this could also be applied to Jimmy, although his body language doesn't give anything away, which is a credit to his professionalism.

In a team with title aspirations? Hell no.

We need him to support Zabba as the Everton left looks like their most dangerous. That and getting tight on Lukaku [which he doesn't seem to like]. A good scrape on his achilles should do it.
The one thing you can never question is his commitment. The lad just runs, and runs, and runs.

So does Forrest Gump.

I don't know how anyone could say he had "a great game" yesterday. He can be so much better than that.

I like Milner but he has been poor recently....

If someone with a fancy foreign name had produced the turn to get away from England's best left back before picking out Dzeko brilliantly for our second then it'd have been shown over and over again on every highlights show going. As it was Milner I think the commentator merely noted that he did well to get away from Baines.

Agreed.
Problem with Milner is that although you could always expect him to run himself to the ground,
he is that kind of hit or miss player.
At times, he looks like not being able to provide a decent cross or pass even to save his own life.
