James Milner

Definitely had a good game yesterday. Awesome turn and assist too.

Milner is the sort of honest player who gives 100%, he's the sort of player who'd get into most other teams in the Premier League...I'm sure Arsenal, Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool would like to have hime and he'd play regularly if he was at one of those clubs. Like others have said on here he may be a bit of a "jack of all trades" but all good teams need someone like that, someone dependable who can play in a variety of positions for the team and who works his effin socks off for 90 plus minutes. He's never going to be a Silva or score 20 plus like Aguero but that's not his role.

I love it when Milner plays, as he adds more solidity to the midfield. He adds nice balance to the team. Sometimes he is a by of disaster offensively, but either way, he will not let you down defensively. The man knows how to put in a shift.

I agree with that, definitely in away games at least. You know you can rely on him

Considering he seems happy with a role in the squad where he might not always be in the starting 11 he's a brilliant squad player to have. Has quality delivery on occasions, did brilliantly for the goal he set up yesterday

Totally agree. The team functions better when he plays. The last time we beat Chelsea at home he started, and I loved the way the team was set up that night. We dominated them.

Jimmy does the job the manager asks and does it very well. He is English and plays for City so the media won't big him up or mention him in the same way as they mention Carrick, Cleverley, Jones, Gerrard and even Henderson but he is an extremely valuable part of our squad. He is an old fashioned type of player, honest as the day as long and fit as a butchers dog. He also has skill that doesn't get mentioned regularly, look at the turn before he crossed for Dzeko, his performance in Munich and against United to name but a few. For every David Silva, Samir Nasri and Yaya Toure you need a James Milner, professional, reliable, tenacious and a will to win. Keep it going Jimmy, hopefully you'll have another medal round your neck on the 11th May.

Spot on.

Agreed. He was there to take Baines out of the game and he certainly did that. IMO if he had started more away games we'd have already won the league. Love Silva, Nasri etc.. but when we play away from home we need players who do the defensive work. Did the job and got an assist. Can't expect to win 5-0 away from home every week, unless we play Stretford that is.

The other thing about Jimmy is his understanding with Silva. They know where each other is going to be at all times. Love when the two of them are on the field together. If you want an example, the 6-1 is one of the best ones. Just look at their movement and almost telepathic understanding in that game.

Love the Jimster.

I too am a fan, however, given the expected incoming transfers,i'm not sure how much playing time he will get next season.

At his peak now, will he be happy with such a limited role?

If he wants to stick around and be happy to have a squad role then that is fine by me.

Milner is a great player honestly. The way he's played against some top sides, while being benched often is simply amazing. Model professional!
