James Milner

He definitely appears quite bitter about his time at City. I was talking to a mate of his a couple of weeks ago and he implied that Milner thought the club had kept him waiting too long before finally making him a 'decent' offer. I'm guessing he knew Liverpool/Rodgers wanted him and would pay him big money to go plus he was promised a central midfield role. To be fair to him, I think it's probably worked out ok overall with Klopp coming, he's a pivotal player for them albeit not in central midfield and he's playing in a major European final.
He seems to have respect and fondness for pretty much every club he's been at but you just sense that he has no fondness for us at all for some reason. It is all a bit odd though, yes he could have played more matches when he was with us but he still featured a fair bit and was a crucial part of the squad. He had far more success with us than anywhere else and the fans were by and large very supportive and appreciative of him. I don't like the whole players not celebrating goals thing, but he's one of those players who just doesn't celebrate goals against former clubs so by celebrating against us, it really does end up looking quite disrespectful. He left with my best wishes, now I just find myself wishing him nothing but failure.

His goal celebration was weird. It was a whipping motion. Did he see himself as the whipping boy of City? Someone who filled in left, right and centre but was always left out when a big game rolled around and everyone was fit?
He played in most big games for us and was MOTM in many

He is so overrated.
Milner's underrated imo...nowt special but still underrated, when you think players like Walcott get huge ratings over the years and i'm certain it's just because he's fast.

"The one that stung me the most was when we had won the trophy and the manager came up to me and said 'I should have played you,' but he never did.

"I thought that was a bit pointless – I don't know what you're supposed to do with that. That one probably hurt me the most, but I'm not going to say who it was."

He is obviously very bitter about the fact he believes he was required to perform much of the 'donkey work' here, and yet wasn't rewarded with the playing time in the more glamorous games.

Who's got the time to check the players of each final he's been here? Someone on here must have.
