James Milner

Milner's underrated imo...nowt special but still underrated, when you think players like Walcott get huge ratings over the years and i'm certain it's just because he's fast.

"The one that stung me the most was when we had won the trophy and the manager came up to me and said 'I should have played you,' but he never did.

"I thought that was a bit pointless – I don't know what you're supposed to do with that. That one probably hurt me the most, but I'm not going to say who it was."

He is obviously very bitter about the fact he believes he was required to perform much of the 'donkey work' here, and yet wasn't rewarded with the playing time in the more glamorous games.
It doesn't even make any sense. He identifies it was the manager who said it and then says he isn't going to say who it was.

Not sure what he's said that's out of order. This is from the interview he gave. He only moans a bit about not playing in the finals or bigger games. I'd rather he felt like that than thought he'd just sit on the bench, play in the COC, and take the money.

"Milner sees parallels between the mood at Liverpool now and City in 2010 when he went there from Aston Villa.

“I chose City mainly because they had a great history before but hadn't won anything for such a long time,” he said. “I had a choice of clubs but City was a chance to be part of something that was building and go again.

"I was fortunate enough to do that and I think Liverpool is the same. Amazing history, but haven't won as much as they would have liked in the recent past. I'd like to start that wave of success again and be part of that.

“When we were at City, (winning) the FA Cup win was so huge because of the belief. We knew we were a good team, but getting that first trophy gave us the drive to push on and that would be the same here."
