Used to listen to him when was a teenager, was quality but Paul Nolan was/is a knob.

Remeber seeing the cock in a bar on deansgate, I forget woh was playing but there was me him and a bloke and his wife. Nolan kept shout at the tv your shit your shit to one of the teams, I saw the wife get unsettled and the hubby looked a handy guy, he walked upto Nolan and within 5 secs Nolan hadscarpped.

Also on numerous times in pubs being told to fuck off and trying to wind up people slgging off whoever the other person supported.

Nolan did actually touch for a 10minute slot (Nolans Ten Minute Talkback or somesuch) on the JS Saturday afternoon show on Piccadilly 1152 (early '90's), after the one 'o clock news and before the football started proper (half 1). Four and a half minutes into the show some United fan was giving him loads and Nolan the eternal City fan (does'nt kid me for a minute with the Leeds/Chelski shit) verbalised the big taboo word (Munich), whereupon the airwaves lit up with death threats and the show was terminated early. Piccadilly had a chat with him and stressed the importance of not causing such a stir with the listening public and Nolan agreed wholeheartedly and on the next Saturdays show he managed to last just over the minute before the M word was once again blurted out. That was the end of his broadcasting career. I seen him not long ago down Mosely St. he shouted me trying to organise a bet whilst being chased round a car by two reds with him shouting 'up the gunners' and doing a little burner whenever they looked to be closing on him.

I asked Mikey about him one day and he told me he was like that from the very first day he started St. Eddies (age 5), could'nt keep his mouth shut, told me he was a tasty little schoolboy footballer (too fast to boot was his actual description)...glideing past you and never failing to provide running commentrary...having the team in fits. Drove the PE teacher Nut-nut...so he put him on the bench, same dance from the bench ended up barred from the schools matches....thats whats wrong with him.

Paul Nolan was a tireless self publicist. Got banned from every station going then assumed other names. Leeds Utd. Fan IIRC.

Stannage is a Boro fan but favours City among the local teams.
He was a pioneer among British "shock-jocks" but is well past his best.
Boozes in Ducie Bridge and Angel in town if you want a civilised chat but often with his missus so have some respect.
