He has a tried and tested technique, get the callers opinion on the subject in question, take the opposite opinion and argue it vehemently, illogically, unintelligently, arrogantly and impolitely and then when, inevitably, the person on the other end of the phone starts to get the better of him and "win" the argument he comes back with a final argument, as implausible as the rest, and with so many holes in it a 3 year old could tear it to shreads, then promptly cuts the caller off so they can't counter his idiotic argument and claims the "victory".
