January transfer/its quiet Thread

Whoever comes has a pretty good shot at getting a premier league winners medal this season, maybe even more. That might get arses in planes this January even before you take in to consideration what Pep and Co will do for your potential.

Pep has pretty much confirmed though that we are looking at adding a defender, which maybe suggests mangala want out? Or is kompany just too much of a risk now even if Eli does stay until summer? Clearly we need something at left back though, Delph has hardly had a break so would make sense to go for a player comfortable at left and centre back. Inigo Martinez is my bet. Then next season you can rotate either Delph or Martinez with Mendy, or play them more centrally alongside.

Sanchez I think we'll face competition from a few now. But something says he wants Pep and only Pep.

Don't think there is anything in the VVD stories. Maybe summer and we address that position specifically. Along with a Fernandinho replacement, if anyone has big enough feet that is.

DDR! You know... the Deutsche Demokratische Republik.
Apparently our owner has been keen on buying the former German republic for a while, but with it no longer actually existing it looks to be a difficult deal to get done.
But "what the sheikh wants..."

2 months younger than Yaya, turns 35 before start of next season...

The team put Swansea in their place ok, but we have had a raft of 2-1 games of late and we can't rely on this continuing. Our front line has a lot of young players in it and it will take a couple more seasons before we could demand consistency from them.

The team obviously needs a LB - CB - DM - Attacker that can feature in the entire frontline

Its impossible to sign 2+ players in the winter window, so we need to take advantage of picking the 2 spots that will help get us through the title and deep CL run.

I'm probably one of the only people on this forum to think this, but I'd honestly rather we don't sign anyone right now. Everything's ticking and the squad harmony is the best it's been for a long time. Getting Sanchez and dropping Sane/Sterling while giving even fewer minutes to Bernardo Silva doesn't make any sense to me.

If we do sign someone, and we probably will, I'd prefer it to be a left-footed center back, like Inigo Martinez, who can provide cover for both CB and LB.

I'm with you. I think we're fine for this year. In the summer we need a LW to rotate with Sane and Sterling and a new CB to replace Kompany. Delph has been our best left back for years so I don't see any point in buying one now unless Delph starts to cover for Fern. If that's not the case then a new DM is needed. None of this messing around with bargains just buy the best of the best in these positions and of we go again.

Aymeric Laporte from Bilbao as CB. Left footed and much better than Van Dijk.
Fabinho from Monaco as replacement for Dinho.

I also would love to see us wind Tottenham up by putting a bid on Kane (who I would love to see playing under Pep in this City team)

Can’t believe we’ll be back for Laporte. I read somewhere that Pep doesn’t go back for players that turned him down.
