Christensen is better than both and only 21. If we want to poach from rivals we should be aftet him. He is so composed, reads the game brilliantly and is competent on the ball.

His only weakness is perhaps the drilled forward passing Pep likes from his centre halves which is why Umtiti has been mentioned. I thought Umtiti was poor when we beat Barca last season but Pep can improve him and he knows the system to a degree so would fit in well.

He doesn't have a release clause. Why would Chelsea sell?

They have always said April, don't know whether he is ahead or behind schedule with his recovery, if he was ahead maybe they would include him for c/l quarter / semi time , if he's still looking at late April , then probably leave him out. Don't know not heard any news on him for a while.

Edit just read in the Martinez thread only 1 of Martinez and Sanchez can be included in the C/L squad so that maybe changes things a bit.

It was in response to someone talking about going after Spurs' best defender. I just made the point that he was better and younger. I do not think either are realistic targets due to various factors.

We are only now getting players like Gundogan match fit. Yaya has helped keep the players we do have, in condition to play & may do so a lot more if we don't get the signings we want.

If we had the money & the players we want available to sign, he would have gone. No point dumping him just for the sake of it.

To challenge the top table diners (Barca, Real, Bayern) we have to make these sort of signings. He would undoubtedly improve the squad. He's top quality. And available for a certain cost - there will be a tipping point that Arsenal would accept. We should meet that cost. Or we could see if Jack Rodwell's available.

We spent more then £200m this summer , Barce lost Neymar and also earn mony this summer so you can understand why we are not hurry to pay for Sanchez..
