January transfer/its quiet Thread

Think we will be in for a left back if there's a possibility of someone available and who Pep thinks is a quality fit .

Anyone else starting to think that we won't sign anyone?

We've seen it in the past where we rely on "Injury prone" players to stay fit for a long period, then we are sat thinking "shit why didn't we buy ... for ... possibly being injured" after the window etc. Then again it depends who is available and for what price.

Think we could do with 1-2 but I can't see it - maybe JFE coming in, if Pep likes him then its up to him :D

Why not go skip the middle club and go straight for Malcolm, plays right wing, left wing and striker? The way the Sanchez deal looks like it would have been structured he would certainly be cheaper.

Given we appear a bit light up front and Delphs injury .. can we afford a signing free window? I get the whole no point/value in short term fixes I am just starting to worry a bit I think its a hang over from the dippers game and the sanchez rigmarole. Can JFE or Inigo Martinez cover at left back?

I can't see why we don't recall Thierry Ambrose from NAC and send Lukas Nmecha there. He is club trained and has had the experience of playing first team football now. He is still only 20 and if it wasn't for two bad injuries would probably have made his debut by now.

Thats my concern as well......the fact that Pep gave the lads a few extra days off this week shows they burnt out. Would hate for it to impact the end of the season. We have room to sign more depth and so hopefully we'll bring someone in soon.

Now the Sanchez show seems to be over I think Pep will probably look at where we are a bit light and hopefully bolster the ranks. Most have pointed out a LB, holding / defensive midfielder and a CB. As well as the obvious I personally wouldn't mind a prolific lethal finisher just to help convert the chances that we are not currently putting away. This window could be the difference in the number of competitions we can have a serious go out, as the Bristol game signified that we can field a couple of fringe players, but not a team full. I also get the feeling Kun is somewhat unsettled and feeling a little bit unwanted and worry that if his head goes down it will have an impact on the squad moral.

Don't see us doing anything this month and I have to say I think it's really risky being as it's a world cup year and how tricky players seem to find bedding into the system it almost commits us to pretty much the same team until the summer of 2019.

As others have alluded to I think it's fair to say Kompany is done and after a world cup with Belgium trying to get 2 games a week out of his body, only the most reckless would count on him at all next season.

Clearly our rivals will look to strengthen this window so the question becomes will they strengthen enough to catch us, this season it's doubtful and then in the summer its certainly not out of the question that 4 of our rivals will be changing managers (Klopp is the one that I think won't be moving or being pushed). However, anyone coming in will have the World Cup issue too, so maybe the whole sticking with what you have got and not changing anything is the way to go, if it's not there will be one hell of an inquest...

That is a huge leap.

Martinez or McGuire

Fred (but I realy hipe we call him santos as freds a crap name for a footballer)

Icardi

that would be my perfect transfer jan

A decent Janurary window for me would be: Fred, Bertrand and a stopgap forward (David Villa on loan or Vardy).

Dont think we will do any business this window. Might try and get some deals done for the summer but we dont buy much and if we do it wont be a big signing.

As for summer transfers what about Can on a free from Liverpool he could well be Fernandhinos long term replacement

Looks like he is off to Juventus, but I would love him here. Will go for free in the summer, and he was exceptional against us.
