January transfer window

Matic is the only signing we should make. We'd be signing a DM and a CB in one player.

Garcia the other way
I might have a longer memory than some on here but Matic was back-up to Garcia before we signed Garcia. Don't read too much into performances in liga sacres its gone seriously downhill, also remember the last Chelsea academy reject we signed? Scott Sinclair?

Difference is, Chelsea realize they let one get away and want to sign him again. They weren't pressed about getting Scott Sinclair back.

They are interested in Matic (if) because their options in midfield right now are Mikel, Essien and Lampard.
They were not interested in Sincalir because their options at AM were Mata, Oscar and Hazard.

What do you think of thems?

CB - Jonathan Tah

LW - Bruma (also good for RW), Memphis Depay

CM - Draxler

FW - Icardi, El Shaawary

If we bring 6 players in this window I will eat my own shit

No I mean as youth investment. These are young footballers that are not in the peaks yet. Draxler is already a name, but the others are not so yet they have the potential. They can be regarded as the purpose of a Kelechi Icheanacho buy. One for the future that can play in the first team when thin.

How thin do they need to be.

Well there were reports that Pellagrini would get a £50m war chest this Jan if we got through the groups of the CL and we did that. so where is that £50m going? there seems to be nothing in the press at all which is very strange for us seeing as we're linked with everyone normally.

Not that surprising. The war chest was conditional upon qualification and, I think, the original exclamation was hedged with 'could have'. We are much better now at keeping our targets under wraps, probably because we have non-English people in charge who feel no need to feed the press pack on a daily basis. Conversely, that we have more stories in the press from players who could be departing is most likely down to their respective agents informing the media. Given that we sealed our deals in the summer relatively quickly, if we don't bring anyone in by the end of next week, then perhaps MP is genuinely satisfied with his lot.

All agreed terms mate just need to iron out a few minor details

you missed iniesta

Desperately need a solid CDM in this Jan, Matic sounds like the man for the job from what I gather. An ideal opportunity to offload Javi the other way and bring some much needed steel in the center should either Yaya or Fernan sustain an injury.

Would love another CB in but I'd imagine we'll keep our current options and wait till the summer for a quality replacement for Lescott. Vertonghen would do nicely and could slot in for RB when required.

Today only reinforced the common opinion that both a right back and a central midfielder are essential purchases.

The gulf in class in those positions between our first team and reserves is huge and needs addressing otherwise we run the risk of implosion,it will only take a couple of key injuries or absences and we will struggle to compete on all fronts.

Right back? Richards should be fit next week. It can wait till summer. Agree about CM. And a CB to replace Lescott. Someone who could also be a 3rd choice RB would be nice.

Simply not true about right back; Richards does not lack class, injury prone yes but lacking class no

he needs a run of games to show that and get into a rhythm, he simply doesn't get that with his injuries, hence the drop off between him and Zaba it's very noticeable.

Relying on Micah to be there when needed is quite a gamble, one that potentially could cost us trophies. I would like to see us make a move for Clyne.
Either way, Boyata must never ever again be allowed to play as a RB for us. Maybe he could do a more decent job as a CB... maybe.

The drop in quality from Ferno/Yaya to any other pairing is far too significant to be acceptable.

A new RB and a new central midfielder would be enough until the summer me thinks. Getting Jovetic back in shape (knocking on wood) will mean a lot for us regarding our attack.

For clarification,i wasn't implying Micah lacks class,he was very much a part of my first team comment, however,as he is never fit,and very inconsistent and unreliable as a consequence........we need to find a replacement as a team like us cannot afford to be caught short because of his increasingly frequent absences.

That effectively leaves Zaba to shoulder the burden as the gaffer obviously has other ideas for Milner.
