Not really, I think... as they (Schalke 04) are still behind the leaders in the Bundesliga (place nr. 5), and according to one of the best football sites here, the Kicker-Site (<a class="postlink" href="http://www.kicker.de" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.kicker.de</a>) he will only rated with an average note 4... (scale from 6 above, to the 1 on the top) :

Note 4, 8 games played, 2 goals, 1assist. But in the Championsleague, they gave him a 2,83 Note.... Mmm :/

Here the whole Schalke top player list (only Bundesliga):

Pl. Player games goals Ø Note

1 Fährmann, Ralf 17 0 2,47

2 Choupo-Moting, Eric Maxim 17 9 3,03

3 Uchida, Atsuto 13 0 3,15

4 Höwedes, Benedikt 13 1 3,31

5 Huntelaar, Klaas Jan 16 7 3,53

6 Neustädter, Roman 17 2 3,56

7 Meyer, Max 14 2 3,59

8 Aogo, Dennis 15 0 3,68

9 Fuchs, Christian 15 1 3,77

10 Höger, Marco 13 0 3,96

11 Draxler, Julian 10 2 4,00

I wouldn't touch Draxler till that contract runs down! His release clause doesnt come close to justify his skills at the moment. Don't get me wrong he is a promising player but a €20m-€25m player at best. In the right team/system he can become one of the best but at €45m that is a BIG gamble to take on a player who is known to be quite inconsistent.

Manchester City transfers: £25m bid for Draxler, Benteke and Praet linked

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/</a> ... id-8379894

Blues have offered a trial to Levski Sofia's Bozhidar Kraev and are stepping up their pursuit of a number of top talents for January.

We start with the shock news that Manchester City are ready to rival Arsenal for Julian Draxler.

The German forward could cost as much as £25m to bring in but Schalke's interest in Matija Nastasic could smooth the way to a deal.

Another attacking midfielder pulling up trees in Europe is also believed to be on Manuel Pellegrini's wanted list.

Dennis Praet caught the eye for Anderlecht during their recent Champions League clashes with the likes of Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund, and now City want to complete a £10m swoop.

Meanwhile, Levski Sofia youngster Bozhidar Kraev is already in Manchester for a trial with the Premier League champions, the Guardian report.

City's injury problems in the centre-forward position have led to links with a number of stars, most prominently Wilfried Bony of Swansea.

But The Sun now claim that Aston Villa star Christian Benteke is wanted by the Blues.

Finally, rumours regarding Ross Barkley refuse to go away, and now it seems Everton are ready to sell for £45m to try and halt their decline.
