I love the way you have written Fernando off. He has the talent as he showed it on his debut. He did say he was carrying a niggle for most of last season, so why not give him a break and a little more time to prove his worth. Eli took some stick on here before settling down and is now receiving well deserved plaudits.

It took the rags 7 years to accept that that Anderson wasn't gonna come good. I'd love Fernando to prove me wrong, but I don't see anything in his performances for us to suggest he'll ever be good enough.

As for Mangala, he's had a few decent games, but the reality is the coaching staff were willing to give him away a few weeks ago; I don't see him being here beyond next summer, especially if Guardiola arrives, a man allergic to the excessive physicality of modern football.

If you are alluding to Mangala not being here next summer - rediculous.

As for Fernando, if he was as poor as you say, why is he still a City player and in the A List for the Chumps League? Seems those that really know understand he was carrying a knock for most of last season and have been sufficiently impressed to keep him on the books, unlike you who frankly, is just impatient.

Pep won a match 3-0 against Bayer Leverkusen just before the break playing 3-1-3-3 without a single centre-back. Granted, it was in part due to necessity given a string of injuries to defenders, but it can only be an encouraging sign for him to keep pushing for a total football renaissance. If Pep comes in next season, even Vinny's job isn't secure!

Ask yourself why Boateng is a permanent fixture in the Bayern side then? He's a player who has solely physical attributes, and isn't composed on the ball.
