If he wants to further his career he must not stay at Celtic for another season. He will stagnate, as the quality of football is ridiculously poor.

Agree,maybe a Championship Club for a few months then a Premier....dont think the Scottish League is that bad a grounding its just playing for Celtic against some of the teams up there cant really test you.

Denayer will have been a City player for two years this summer and can be registered as u21 in any competition we enter next season, as can every other EDS player likely to get game time with the exception of Iheanacho, Nwakali and Dilrosun, who can all only be registered as u21 for the premier league and will require a squad spot for the Champions League.

The only excuse that I would find acceptable for Denayer not being an active member of the first team squad next season would be that he had a chance to get more time on the field at a Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga or Ligue 1 club. He's excelled at Celtic and needs to be tested at the top level.

To not require a squad spot for CL the player must train with the club for 3 years at least between 15 and 21 years. Denayer joined us in june/july 2013 and has only been with us for one year. So, no, not everybody from EDS would be able to play in ucl without being in the squad-list for it

Even though he is with Celtic he is stil technically a city player so he would have been with the club for 2 years.
