Well impressed, in total control of the defensive midfield berth allowing yaya to do what he does best

Probably the one thing missing from the last Chelsea game, whether it be Garcia or fernandiho that was the difference

In midfield he has played very well this season having him in for de michellis made a huge difference. This year he has improve and a lot of criticism has been undeserved. Nasri back too a huge boost and it looked like he hadn't been away.

Just looked a completely different player, think this could be the beginning of him turning a corner for us.
Agreed. I never thought he could be quite this effective in a 2-man midfield. In a 3-man midfield, sure as he's a good distributor and has excellent positional work. This was impressive though. It would be nice to only have to shop for one central midfielder in the summer if he keeps this up (assuming that the manager doesn't think Rodwell will make it.)

What's impressed me is the whole squad seems to have clicked with Pellegrini's system and that goes for Garcia as well. His confidence is obviously higher.

I think he's generally proved in the big games that if we want a holding midfelder, that he does not dissapoint. The better the opposition, the more effective he is. He is never going to add a lot offensively, so if there isn't much defending to be done then he looks a bit pointless, but if their is defending to be done or the opposition wnats to play on the break, then he's shown his worth to the team. Excellent today, hope for more of the same against Barca

His best performance so far. I've criticised him before for not getting involved but today he read the game brilliantly and took up positions where he could run the game on his terms. The most influential player today.
