He has NEVER showed that kind of constant movement since arriving. Made himself available for the quick pass and followed with a quick release.

A different player recently.

The way we played helped him. If we play a gungho style with him against good quality opposition, he is likely to be exposed. However, he has shown that he can play an important role for the team. Fair play him, he was very good tonight. I'm happy for him because he does occasionally give the impression he is not a cheery chap.

A real calming influence today I thought, kept us looking composed and never in any danger at all. I genuinely struggle to think of a game he's played in midfield for us where we've looked shaky defensively( (my memory is terrible though, so I'm sure I'll be corrected). I think being forced into playing as a shambolic emergency CB has really done his reputation here a lot of harm that he's struggled to recover from, because in midfield he very rarely done much wrong.
A very sensible comment

Agreed. He does a good job in that position, and that is where he should be played and nowhere else.

Great performance tonight from him.

His performance today gives us a boost in confidence considering the rest of the season. Lots of games to be played and wouldn't want to see Demechelis put in CM again. Please never again!

Fucking man of the match all day and all night.
This boy showed what he can do today.
Funny how Hazard didn't have so much as a sniff with this lad in the middle breaking play up.

Well done Javi Garcia.
