Javi Garcia (continued)

Agreed - he changed things when he came on today as did Milner in 2nd half too. Pellegrini lost us that game today but Javi much improved.

I wonder whether we should keep Javi I think he is improving and is versatile, good squad and popular member of the team. I am getting to like him more and would keep him.

-- Sun Apr 13, 2014 4:47 pm --

I wonder whether we should keep Javi I think he is improving and is versatile, good squad and popular member of the team. most improved player by far. Should not be thinking of selling in my opinion, one of the best SQUAD players you could ask for.

Not hindsight, but should have started today. Has been very good the last couple of months.

I think anyone worth their salt that sees how Liverpool play would have picked Garcia today. One good thing is that Mourinho is more tactically aware and will set his team up not to be caught cold like we were today.

This..and I'm no fan of Javi but that's the clueless one for you. He hasn't a breeze.

Hope we see more of him and fern playing together. Thought they were excellent together against Munich and in the second half yesterday.
With Yaya out for a spell , we're going to get that chance .
It worked yesterday , and while we will miss the creative artistry of the big guy , it will surely give Ferny a chance to show how good he can be and JGs presence in front of the back 4 could provide more stability , especially if Vincent is carrying a knock.
We will look a lot more conventional in midfield - not always a bad thing.

Gross exaggeration. Milner was far more of an impact and is a hands-down better player than Garcia.

gross misconception. Javi laid the base for Milner if you cant see that then I think you know very little about football

I agree, Garcia was good but I thought there were moments in the game when his pace let him down again.

I am warming to Javi though and I think he can prove to be a decent squad player, I still think we need somone like Fernando though.

Yaya, Fernandinho, Fernando, Zuculini and Huws should be our midfield options next year.

Totally underrated we look so more solid with him in the team his distribution is class and he lays the foundation for yaya/fernandinho to get forward I'd pick him all day for the tougher games with milner.

Ha ha that is the funniest thing I 've seen today ! Garcia hides when the going gets tough ? He was arguably the best player on the pitch yesterday in a bear pit atmosphere and yet another class display that laid the foundations for the comeback we were in total control until Kompanys error cost us the game

On the money! He and Jimmy changed the game, not the result unfortunately.

Disagree Pete, I've not watched it again on tv yet but I thought he was hiding lots of times. He just doesn't offer himself for the ball enough. Not just yesterday but all season.

I don't think I could disagree with this any more to be honest. He is the opposite imo, he has been absolutely outstanding in the bigger games and has frequently calmed games down with his introduction when they were going against us before. It's the games against parked buses where he is a bit obsolete, the more he has to do the better he is, imo
