Javi Garcia (continued)

Agree he has got to start next week for me ---- push Yaya further up. I'd go for;

Hart, Zabba, Kompany, MDM, Clichy, Garcia, fernandinho, Yaya, silva, Nasri and Dzeko (unless Aguero capable of giving us an hr)

I find myself in complete agreement with this / these lineup(s).

After his performance today, Javi deserves a start and will give us extra bite in midfield if he replaces Jesus at Klanfield.

It was probs Fernadinhos worse 45 mins this season, the gaffer changed it and second half with Javi we looked so much more solid.

well done again Javi

It's telling that most people on here now have him in the starting XI at Anfield, the most important game of our season. Quite a turnaround, fair play to him.

If these performances are what he's capable of it's going to give our executives a few hard decisions this summer. That's good. :)

I would start him.But also play Milner for Samir and replace Edin for kun. We need form players.

Behave, Nasri starts over Milner all day long!...
But not over Jovetic - who was MUCH better in much the same role.

He changed the game. Ferna really had an off day and Javi Garcia came on and took control of the middle. Bravo.

Javi has really turned in round the last few months, he does well in certain types of games. Today was good for him as Southampton have a technical midfield and Javi is a pretty good technical but fairly slow player, he seems to struggle when it's a physical battle in there or when he's in against genuine pace.

Like the Bayern Munich away game, would like to see Garcia start..and also Milner instead of Navas at Anfield next week.

How can someone go from being so shit to possibly becoming a real choice and worthy of a starting position?

Confidence thing or just got to grips with the league?

Well done Javi

Letting the lad get used to what's required, instead of judging him after 3 games.....maybe

Understanding his role and exactly what the Manager requires - A few months ago I though we would struggle to get 3 million for him now we would get our money back so well done that man.

He was never that poor in the first place.

Remember he was injured when he first came, and then he played irregularly so it's taken him time to settle in.

It could've been the two goal cushion, but we looked much better in the second half when he was on the pitch. He does the simple things well, and reads the game brilliantly. We seemed much more balanced when he came on, and there's a strong argument to start him at Anfield. Fair play to him, seems to be winning the fans around with his performances.
Mostly agree, and I've liked Garcia all along, but I would hope we don't start him at anfield, we need Fernandhino, with Yaya alongside, not 20 yards forward. Balance is the 2 close together, taking their chances individually to get forward, not today's effort. Once Garcia came on we reverted to 2 central midfielders alongside each other and thoroughly dominated.

As good as Fernandhino is he can't play against 3 on his own.

It's taken him a season and a good chunk of this one, slightly more than a few games..

Anywhere doesn't matter as long as he keeps performing.

To who are you referring judging him after 3 games? Us the fans, last years management, this years management or the scouts that suggested we pay 16 mill for him? I can only speak for myself, but I judged him after 1 game as pretty good when he scored from a corner away on his debut, nearly got 2!! Then I judged him for the next year and 1/2 as too slow and read the game badly, was 1 of his biggest critics, but he always gave 100% which was the only thing I liked about him!! Now he does a job, and I don't shit myself whenever he is play!! Very pleased for the lad, he's supposed to be a nice guy too! Fair play!

Yet another example of how we need to realise that some players coming from abroad in particular need a good year in the prem to get up to speed. Garcia's performances have upped since the autumn (think bayern away) yet many refused to see it.
