Moutinho could end up at Spurs for 22m pounds. Imagine they paying 22m for him and we pay 23m for Garcia while Moutinho is a lot better midfielder not def. midfielder exactly but simply a better midfielder..

We already have Barry, Milner, Rodwell, Yaya for the 'midfielder' role(s). Whether you rate Moutinho more than the first 3 listed there (he probably is) is irrelevant when you already have those 3 in your squad.

Barry is out injured and his form is questionable after he recovers, Jack Rodwell isn't near as good a defensive midfielder as De Jong was, Milner isn't a natural in midfield (or very good defensively, for that matter - he has enormous work rate and desire to defend but its just not there), and Yaya is straight up awful defensively. He's an immense addition to our attacking strenght but needs to be played higher up the pitch than Barry or Rodwell and needs solid backing behind him for that.

Honestly i'd be happy with any defensive midfield addition, including Garcia, even though i've never really watched him. As long as its not crazy money, like the figures being thrown around now (30m, this has to be a wind up).
