I disagree pal, I may be proved wrong but for me he does not justify the fee. I watched him quite a bit last season and apart from the Man UTD games and few La Liga games bar some of the top sides he did not make me jump out my seat and think, wow he is a 40 million Euro player.
He is living of a the reputation Bilbao got from their Europa league campaign and what could be a one season wonder in terms of performace in La Liga.
He is a very good player but not 40m euros worth.
Go to agree there! If he's going to be worth "a lot more" than 40 million that'd make him the world's best central midfielder and from what I've seen of him he won't be reaching that level. If we could have got him for 20-25 then it would have been a great deal but at 40, no way.

Sorry you misunderstood, nothing to do with Zabs quality as a DMF. The whole process of selling De Jong to replace him with Zaba, to replace Zaba with Maicon. Beyond stupid.

I think he's worth around £18m-19m. £24m is a lot, but at the same time, there aren't many DMs that are worth that much. Couldnt have wished for a worse transfer window than this. Only signing Messi or Ronaldo would make it a good one, not looking forward to this season at all.

from what i've heard he sounds good but he sounds like one of those players who will take a while to get used to the champions league
