Javi Garcia

When I saw this thread, I suspected another session of Garcia bashing. Glad it's not

I agree he was decent today. Rarely put a foot wrong, but we needed more attacking impetus. Turned out to be a good decision to take Garcia off, and not Barry

I glanced at previous pages and a few are quick on the trigger Marvin.
Don't look you will just facepalm.

Hopefully he gets forward more, we saw it coming today a bit i think but he is heading the right direction which is great for the squad.

Yes chaps he isn't the fastest but where is it written "good players must have pace" ?
Plenty of examples showing it's not the case to be fair.

Everyone on here is going to be proved wrong by Garcia, i've said it numerous times in this thread and a few others. He has shown a few small glimpses of what he can do but he needs a run in the team, he plays one game then is out for 2 at the moment, thats no good for anyone. When Silva has been out for a few weeks even his passing is shocking at first but he gets the time on the pitch to get over it, Garcia has been suffering from the same, he's barely played.

His style is to try and break up play when opponents attack, getting a foot in, winning the ball back and then knocking a quick ball forward as well as being fantastic at heading. He will be similar to when Gareth Barry was at his best for us when he is up to speed.

Apart from starting the first 6 meaningful games then getting injured in the 7th?

Since the start of October he's played 4 out of 15 games, 2 of those were in the champions league where the whole team was shit so he can't be singled out and one of those was against Newcastle the other day when he played well! Ye he's really been given a solid run in the side hasn't he!!

Everyone is so fucking impatient, we go through this same shit over and over and over again every single year, there is player who doesnt play well then 6 months later he is excellent and all of a sudden you get all the people in this thread like you saying "oh i knew he'd be good, he just needed time to settle in etc..."

I will just wait for that to happen shall i.

I've been on this forum for a couple years, doing more reading than posting, but this is definitely a recurring theme. Every year new recruits are constantly judged too soon and disregarded when they don't perform right away. This is followed by the posters that defend the recruits, starting a new topic when the said player starts playing well. They demand those that doubted apologize and get in some "i told you so's." This happens over and over again. Some players come good and some don't, but I feel they should all get a full season to prove what they have to offer and settle into the team. This does not mean that criticisms cannot be brought up of underperforming players, because this is fair to do, but giving up on players early in their City careers and calling them shit is ridiculous.

i agree, its more to do with a problem with the supporter rather than the player. give players at least a year to find their place in the team and then pass judgement.
with our rotation policy now it is so hard to judge players until you see over a period of time what they bring to the team.
and lets not forget that when we win, everyone sees performances through blue tinted happy specs anyway, and dont really analyse the players performances as much.
supporters, what a bunch of fickle wankers we are??? :)

Garcia was more ambitious with some of his passing in yesterday's game too. I thought he had a better game than Barry and I was surprised when he was withdrawn. With hindsight it looks like the right decision.

What is true is that players need to be given time by fans to adapt.

was decent today but we need more from him
like what/ does look like he had trouble passing the ball forwards yesterday but he had a decent game and i believe hisrole wasnt to be too ambitious with his passing with barry toure and silva ahead of him who could do that. good games against newcastle and again yesterday should shut some nobs up on here.
