what a load of common sense.

Wishful thinking more like. Garcia won't get quicker! The guy runs like Harold bishop power walks, he isn't athletic enough to improve

who gives a fuck how fast Garcia can run? why is that important.?
i don,t expect a cultured, composed, deep- lying central midfield player to be able to out-run linford christie...i,d expect garcia to be able to hold his posistion,be an out-let for his centre back, excell at ball retention, put in a tackle when needed, drop back to cover for a team-mate who has joined the attack, make numerous 5 to 10 yard passes, ensure the shape of the team is maintained throughout the match, use his height to advantage when attacking/defending free kicks and be smart enough to change tactics/shape at short notice, dependent upon the managers instructions....

Garcia was not brought by Roberto to be some form of 1970,s english midfield runner...we are not stoke city, we are manchester city.

It is important because he is supposed to break down opposition attacks, he doesn't, he just tries to get in front of them to "put them off a bit" and is much too slow to actually challenge for a ball(he can't get close enough) he may be fantastic at bringing the ball out and playing a 5 yard pass, as i'm sure Rodwell is, but we need to protect the defence. We have all the talent in the world going forward, we didn't need another body to get in David, Nasri or Yaya's way, thats what NDJ did so well!

Hows about we let the lad settle into a new team in a new league before deciding whether he is shit?

A good sentiment but the basics appear to be missing unfortunately, any improvement will not be huge IMO.I hope i am very wrong.
A shadow of the guy I saw playing for benfica though. He looks like he lost 100 yard of pace as well. I hold out hoping he might rediscover himself and come to terms with English football

Wow, not only A yard of pace, but 100 yards! Just our luck

The 5 min video from the Watford game doesnt do him many favours, and all ive ever seen from him so far is 'okay', 'decent'. Unfortunately so much more is needed and expected for £16M.

He could be Barry's long term replacement but it depends on how he does in his second season with us. In one aspect he is on a hiding to nothing as he is seen as De Jong's replacement.

Thats the problem, as champions last year we bought "an improvement on De Jong in Garcia", so far he's been 3rd rate at best(as an improvement to NDJ), yet with only 1/2 the season gone, we know we've given up the title(or at least suspect it) and also know Garcia will not improve with a full 1/2 of a season to go, says it all really! What gets to me most is the footballing snobs who say forget NDJ, he's history, and he only played ......... mins last year anyway! Along with Kun, Yaya, Vinnie, Hart and Tevez in the last few games NDJ was as important!

The other side of the coin is the wages NDJ was asking for. We felt that we had to cash in the summer. Like I said judge him on his second season with us and not before.

£3 mill we cashed in on, £40 mill we payed for poor replacements, NDJ was a great player and also a businessman, he felt as so much money flying around at City, he deserved a piece of the action. Mancini felt he wasn't skilled enough/Mancini feels Mario too skilled to let go, those 2 actions by Bobby will be his downfall(don't get me wrong i'm a massive fan of Mancini) but we are paying the price, and so will he! Last year we had Yaya and Silva on fire, Barry the dependable, and any of 4/5 others in M/F, but when the going got tough NDJ helped us defend and allowed Yaya to push forward which made a massive difference to us. The way we started last season it was only unfortunate circumstances that allowed Barry and not NDJ to come good, NdJ had an injury against Swansea, and we realised after the second half drubbing we gave them we could play with 1 DMF, and Barry was in place, had it been the other way round NDJ still with us, we'd of gone all out for RVP and we'd be 10 points clear in the prem and still in Europe!

We paid £2,000,000 more for de Jong who was out of contract at the end of the season. Like I said give him the same amount of time that we gave to de Jong before you make any decisions. As for the rest of your post de Jong wouldn't made any difference in us signing RVP as we have 4 strikers on our books.

If only they listened you we'd win CL next year, you're definition of vision and planning.

WTF is this shit?

The rest of the post is bollocks too, but less surprising as know we always need someone to boo it seems, but that line up there is complete garbage.

Garcia is a very good player, not had the easiest of rides so far with us but improving all the time. When he finds his feet he is more than good enough.
