He could be Barry's long term replacement but it depends on how he does in his second season with us. In one aspect he is on a hiding to nothing as he is seen as De Jong's replacement.

thats stretching it a bit Ray, Barry is in a diffent league to anyone at our club.

No he plays in the Premier League as well

Obviously, no two players are the same. However, Barry is always more of a threat going forward with a player behind him [NDJ/JG].

With Yaya on the African Cup of Nations Javi will get a run of games. In this run of games we will see just how good he is. He needs to step up no doubting about it. The midfield for me is a concern no matter what.
Its not strong enough I look at Yaya and Silva and if we get a injury to either we struggle a lot over the times. Milner is good but we really do need a upgrade on whats left in the midfeild. A young player who will be able to progress under Mancini into a better all round player.
I would have a look at James McCarthy honestly think someone is going to snap him up and at 22 if he moves onto a better team he will improve a hell of a lot in my opinion he is the most interesting player to be looking at for the midfield at the moment. From the English league.

sorry if i missed this on here.

btw, no thanks.

I think they've made that up, it's not reported anywhere else. Either way no thanks either, Cabaye is good but we have to aspire for better than stockpiling level 2/3/4 midfielders when we badly need level 1 (like Yaya) or players close to the highest level if we're ever going to reach the next level.

Who knows de Niro. I haven't completely lost the plot. Barry isn't getting any younger and I think he has a couple of seasons at the most.

That's what worries me, gas baz will be very very difficult to replace.
