You've contradicted yourself a bit there.

We may have all the money in the world but that doesn't mean players will want to come to us for that reason - you've explained this by saying that Javi Martinez chose Bayern over us despite us having "money to bid for any player".

We went for De Rossi and he said no, we went for Martinez and he said no, so we went for Garcia and Rodwell and they said yes. It really is that simple.

Garcia is an object lesson in not jumping to conclusions. I remember thinking we had signed a gem after Michael Frontsek's debut, the rest is history. On the other hand almost everyone had written off Garcia, Rodwell and Sinclair after a few games. Sometimes it can take a full season to bed in. We are in a different place now and we should give our new players time, sometimes injuries, change of scene etc can mean a long bedding in period.
