Javi Garcia

can people put age and occupation when posting i.e dave 16 1/2 burger bar oprative .i may not get so angry then ,

Too slow, and noticed players constantly running off him to which he was totally unaware or worse couldn't be bothered to track. A poor signing, I think it's fair to say last window was a disaster aside from nasti

think its a bit early to be writing him off surely? i think we need to at least give him a season before we can judge him

Amazing isnt it? At least I was saying up front that we have players who simply aren't good enough - some of you have waited until the wheel has come off to acknowledge that, whilst I was taking the flak for speaking my mind.

The most pressing business we have needed to do for the last year was to buy the best central defender in the world. Lescott & Nasty are simply not good enough technically.

We shouldn't have sold Dejong. Rodwell, Garcia & Barry are not in his class at what he does.

Who the hell thought Sinclair was a good buy?

Why does Mancini play wingers when Aguero is centre forward, yet doesnt when Dzeko is?

Why have we got a non english speaking defensive coach - and why do we persist with zonal marking - a system which has never worked in the english league?

Why did we spend 50m on dross - when we could have bought Bale for 75m?

What does Nasri do?

Why the hell is Balotelli allowed to pull our shirt on still?

Why does Mancini change a winning team?

Why does the team only play with passion for only the last 15/20 mins of every game?

Mancini has no history of success in CL - why should it be different now?

You may not like what I write - but at least I speak my mind and don't just follow the flock.....................

Why why? So Mancini tactics have not been good enough? Moan moan Mancini deserves respect for what he has brought to our club! Makes me Sick some of our so called fans

If our midfield was properly balanced Garcia's lack of pace wouldn't be as important as he'd have mobile midfielders around him, but we have too many similar midfielders (who lack mobility and creativity). Garcia is not suddenly a bad player after proving himself not only in Portugal but in the Champions League for Benfica, and subsequently being called up and capped by the best national team in the world. The problem is our midfield is full of sluggish players who are not bad but are quite easy to run through if a fast and fluid team comes up against them. Play him in an adventurous 4-1-2-3 type formation with Yaya and another top class midfielder (one with skill and athleticism like Arturo Vidal) in front of him and he'd probably be great.

Is that not Mancinis fault? He is the one who has bought an unbalanced, limited midfield and adding another square peg hasn't helped that problem.

Garcia is very similar to Rodwell and neither are as good as Barry so why did he not wait until Jan when someone more suitable may have become available?

You could argue that it is, but given that his main targets were De Rossi and Martinez for the midfield this summer, and Hazard for attacking midfielder, he seemed to identify the problems and possible solutions. Imagine a theoretical midfield of De Rossi/Yaya with Silva and Hazard as our playmakers behind Aguero and Van Persie, because that is what Mancini seemed to want but the club couldn't allow him and I find it hard to see that team not doing well at any level.

Well this is a good question and suggests an urgency to bolster the squad which then suggests panic buying in desperation for numbers (which, given our recent injuries showing the squad isn't as big as people think, is understandable). I've said many times I don't understand why we had to buy both. One was enough and now we have too many players who do more or less the same thing, with a need for more players in that very position that is now bloated with players. But I do think Garcia could be an asset to us as long as the midfield was finely balanced... which it is the opposite of right now.

javi garcia is a class act! not shown what he is capable of yet but this thread is a fukin embaresment, just like many other posts these days.

No one see him play for Benfica? He was quality in a specific role for them but played around athletic players in his time there. When Garcia was their only holding midfielder with three attacking midfielders (Di Maria, Ramires, Aimar) in front of him, they were an amazing side to watch and he was doing a great job as basically their only anchor man. Last season he played with Witsel in the midfield who is a very talented all-round midfielder and is vastly superior to Gareth Barry, and they complimented each other well with Benfica having a good European run and winning their group with United in it.

Exactly, If City couldn't sign Hazard, De Rossi, Martinez & RVP, they should wait till the next VALUABLE player become available.

I think the club have wasted 50 Million this summer on a players who are not good enough to be a bench player apart from Nastasic who could be a good addition.
