Javi Garcia

I'd have Yaya, Milner and Barry ahead of.Everyday of the week.Think he'll join my list of "fucking pointless shitty summer City buys." that list so far has Scott Sinclair and Maicon, willing to give Rodwell some time as he's looked ok apart from two sloppy passes but when Garcia joined I saw some comments on here saying he was a faster, bigger, better De Jong.Sorry De Jong's better, this is not some knee-jerk reaction as I've saw him play about 10 Champions League games for Benfica and he never stood out, where as Witsel did.

A defensive midfielder is doing a good job if they are not standing out.

Amazing isnt it? At least I was saying up front that we have players who simply aren't good enough - some of you have waited until the wheel has come off to acknowledge that, whilst I was taking the flak for speaking my mind.

The most pressing business we have needed to do for the last year was to buy the best central defender in the world. Lescott & Nasty are simply not good enough technically.

We shouldn't have sold Dejong. Rodwell, Garcia & Barry are not in his class at what he does.

Who the hell thought Sinclair was a good buy?

Why does Mancini play wingers when Aguero is centre forward, yet doesnt when Dzeko is?

Why have we got a non english speaking defensive coach - and why do we persist with zonal marking - a system which has never worked in the english league?

Why did we spend 50m on dross - when we could have bought Bale for 75m?

What does Nasri do?

Why the hell is Balotelli allowed to pull our shirt on still?

Why does Mancini change a winning team?

Why does the team only play with passion for only the last 15/20 mins of every game?

Mancini has no history of success in CL - why should it be different now?

You may not like what I write - but at least I speak my mind and don't just follow the flock.....................

I remember when De Jong signed, literally a few games in these threads were being made.

I even remember threads doubting Silva and Tevez after a few games.

As a group of fans, we have a history of this. Unfortunately too many City fans are pretty dumb when it comes to football.

De Jong was sold because he was greedy and wouldn't sign a new deal, not to make way for Javi Garcia.

I would say give the kid a bit of time to settle in, everything has been stop start for him so far, but that would be far too sensible and not reactionary enough for bluemoon.
How are City fans dumb What i saw last night was a very poor player.Im hoping he will improve after a few games.

It's an internet forum, everyone has opininons.

Utter fucking horse shit, Nasty will be world class pretty fucking soon.

We shouldn't have sold Dejong. Rodwell, Garcia & Barry are not in his class at what he does.

Barry's better than De Jong.

Who the hell thought Sinclair was a good buy?

Agreed.

Why does Mancini play wingers when Aguero is centre forward, yet doesnt when Dzeko is?

When did we Aguero play with Bellemy?

Why have we got a non english speaking defensive coach - and why do we persist with zonal marking - a system which has never worked in the english league?
I can't disagree.
Why did we spend 50m on dross - when we could have bought Bale for 75m?

I think Nasty will be a bargain.

What does Nasri do?

Passes short.Passes short and passes short.

Why the hell is Balotelli allowed to pull our shirt on still?

Because of a purple patch between the 1-6 and febuary

Why does Mancini change a winning team?
To keep the players fresh.

Why does the team only play with passion for only the last 15/20 mins of every game?
We have Zaba, Kompany, Richards, Kolarov, Clichy, Milner and Tevez who play with passion for the whole game
Mancini has no history of success in CL - why should it be different now?
Better players than at Inter.

ferguson had no history of champs league before 1999,you sound like a spoilt kid

why do we persist with zonal marking - a system which has never worked in the english league?
except for the last two seasons under mancini, best defence in the prem.

for someone who doesnt follow the flock, you do some bleating,

I think he's been pretty average so far, he hasn't really done much wrong nor has he done much to impress. I think he'll improve though when he gets used to a new team, league etc but then again I don't really know much about him so I don't know what I'm meant to be expecting from the guy.

Ok,
1- Please tell what amazing technical CB is out there, at a reasonable price/is available. For the record Nastasic is technically very good for his age and position.
2- Wouldn't sign a new contract because he was not given assurances he would play unlike AC. Move on. Its hardly like Barca selling Messi and replacing him with Carroll.
3- Needed an English winger who is direct and has pace. Cheap and young. Why not. Sinclair needs a chance to show he can play in this team but no ones given him it. 45mins against Arsenal is hardly fair.
4- I don't know. I agree.
5- Mancini thought he could do a good job so brought him in, same zonal marking that has brought two golden gloves for Hart and consecutive best defence in the prem? If so because it works.
6- So buy Bale to replace Johnson, NDJ and Savic. So be a bit part wimger to throw on and try to change the game, tough tackling discplined midfielder and be CB cover. Fucking talented that lad.
7- Recycles possession, attempts to hold play around the box and play in full backs and strikers. He is not in good form right now so hes being slated zzzzzzz.
8- What has he done wrong recently? That means he doesn't deserve to play?
9- To keep players fresh and create some competition for places.
10- Ask the players. Mancini doesn't control how they feel and want to be on the pitch.
11- Well we will find out won’t we.

No one see him play for Benfica? He was quality in a specific role for them but played around athletic players in his time there. When Garcia was their only holding midfielder with three attacking midfielders (Di Maria, Ramires, Aimar) in front of him, they were an amazing side to watch and he was doing a great job as basically their only anchor man. Last season he played with Witsel in the midfield who is a very talented all-round midfielder and is vastly superior to Gareth Barry, and they complimented each other well with Benfica having a good European run and winning their group with United in it.

If our midfield was properly balanced Garcia's lack of pace wouldn't be as important as he'd have mobile midfielders around him, but we have too many similar midfielders (who lack mobility and creativity). Garcia is not suddenly a bad player after proving himself not only in Portugal but in the Champions League for Benfica, and subsequently being called up and capped by the best national team in the world. The problem is our midfield is full of sluggish players who are not bad but are quite easy to run through if a fast and fluid team comes up against them. Play him in an adventurous 4-1-2-3 type formation with Yaya and another top class midfielder (one with skill and athleticism like Arturo Vidal) in front of him and he'd probably be great.
