I cannot believe how bad our summer dealings were.

If you are the best team in the Premier League and you want to go that next step to challenge Barca and Madrid you have to wait for the right player and then spend.

Who at the club thought Sinclair, Garcia, Maicon, Nastasic would catapult us to the next level?

SINCLAIR - Did ok at Swansea, hardly set the world on fire. Aston Villa type signing.
GARCIA - Doesnt even play for his country. Was playing in a league just as bad as Scotlands. Def the worst buy of the summer.
MAICON - Hes past it. Defensively he is awful. Attacking wise he still has a little to offer but not the world beater we need in our starting 11.
NASTASIC - We have got lucky here. Hes 19 so we would have thought about bedding him in bit by bit. He was a prospect more than a regular starter. Thank god one of these turned out ok.
RODWELL - I understand hes 21 and English so take a chance but so far hes brought nothing to the table. Will reserve judgement on him though as once injuries clear up and he matures he might be ok. Not looking good though.

Portugals league is not as bad as Scotlands and to say that is laughable quite frankly.

Got to love the fact many on here are super scouts capable of judging players after so little time.

Some of the abuse he is getting on here is quite frankly shameful.

He's come from a completely new league had injury problems and people expect him to be amazing.
Don't come back with oh he doesn't have the fundamentals eg bottle because that is bollocks, watch games he played last season. He is just settling in slowly and needs time before anyone can really judge how good he is. If we get to Jan/Feb and he is the same there has to be questions asked but until then give it a rest with the shittest player ever in a City shirt.

One more point stop banging on about NDJ. He has left, get over it.
No one here really knows what happened but it is expected that we offered a contract and he turned it down because Mancini didnt want someone like him in the team.

I guess the point is that he is showing NO attributes, at current, of being a top player. And as the Champions of England you would have expected the buys we make are top players, and improvements of what we had previously.

Yep, give players time, but even in the early stages players show something of what they are about but just lack hugely on the pace of the game. At the moment Garcia is showing nothing, and that is what is worrying people.

Regarding NDJ- it's difficult not to compare. Whilst they are different players, ultimately Garcia was brought in as De Jong left. Had Barry gone, we would be comparing Garcia to Barry. It was a midfielder for a midfielder. So even if they have different attributes, it was a change in style, and it still is comparable- what style is better, and suited the team better, NDJ or Garcia?

They play in the same position, and we bought one as we sold another, so to say they aren't comparable is stupid.

Well to be honest mate its not that funny. If thats all you took out of that then you need to open your eyes to the bigger picture which is our summer dealings were dreadful.

Also, aren’t Celtic and Benfica in the same Champs League group? Looks like Celtic will progress. As for the rest of each league, i don’t think the gulf in class will be too different. I'll leave you to laugh away though.

Personally.

Javi Garcia - has looked a little slow, but has shown he's got an eye for a pass, brilliant aerial ability and the ability to play well when thrown in to the game.

Sinclair - won't be a huge player for us, I don't think, but his pace is going to be very useful. I don't think hes better than Johnson but his attitude is.

Maicon - offers something different going forward, not afraid to whip it in early or have a go, not the best defensively but Zab and Richards are ready to step in whenever.

Rodwell - if anything hes just looked nervous. Will bed in with time.

Nastasic - has looked excellent so far. Potential Vidic 2.0

Javi Garcia - This poor guy - I feel for him. He is meant to improve upon NDJ but there's no way under the sun that he is capable of that. It's not his fault if his best is not good enough. I hope we sell him asap for his own good. In the meantime I hope we are searching high and low for a midfield general because we are in bad need of one.

Sinclair - he too is no where near good enough. Unless you have a top class wide player then a team might as well play any player out there, e.g. Tevez or Maicon. No point in selling him yet though.

Maicon - he may be awful defending but i'd forgive him that as he seems the only player we have who can cross a ball. A good buy imo.

Rodwell - he has something about him and a good buy I think.

Nastasic - top class signing. He can't pass out of defense very well but then again netiher can Kompany or Lescott. I have very high hopes for this lad.

I just hope that the Barcelona guys behind the scenes these days will help us choose better players in the future. We need an injection and I hope it comes in January.

It's hard to be too critical of anyone after us winning the league last year. I still can't believe that we won the league. But something has gone wrong this year and to ignore it is only putting your head in the sand. If Mancini doesn't know what it is or what to do to freshen things up then he should resign. I hope he stays and fixes it. This the true test of his management skills now.

Can he fix things by next Sunday or get the most from the new players by then .... yikes!
