Way too many Fifa kids on here. Speed doesn't make you good. Look at Obafemi Martins. Or (harshly) Jesus Navas. Or Jordan Ibe. Or Theo Walcott. Plenty of speed merchants have very little ability on the ball or tactical awareness.
Javi Martinez is 28, a good experienced age with positional versatility, a fantastic football brain and ability on the ball. He's twice the player of a peak Gareth Barry and he did ok.

Would probably signify going with a 3 at the back. Maybe a sign we are struggling getting full backs?
Or more that in one signing we are automatically better suited to 2-3 different systems.

Anyway fed up of these signings. Theyre either too old or too slow. Couldn't give 2 fucks that they're technically brilliant and understand the way our manager wants to play. Dates of birth and being able to run fast are what wins trophies.
