I wonder if he's been thrown to his death rather than fell to his death.
The thing I don't get is he decides to walk back to his hotel - so does he:

A. Walk along the road where maybe someone could offer a lift or eventually the bus turns up
Or
B. Take a dirt track where he has no idea in which direction he will end up at or have no knowledge of what kind of terrain is around the corner / over the next hill.

Even assuming (wrongly or rightly) that he was E'd off his face, could he really choose B as being the better option?
Neither the girl or his mate who spoke with him on the phone appear to indicate he was off his face - so why not just follow the road?

C stay in the house with your er two new pals who could have 'dropped' you closer to your hotel than the cliff in the morning.

You wouldn't try and take a short cut through rocky terrain and undergrowth, you would try to stay on the path.
Wasn't it light when he set off as it was 8am when he last texted to say his phone has no charge? If it was then you would definitely be in no danger of falling over the edge.

This link with the Rolex and the supposed gangsters and drug dealers has something to do with it. I reckon they've just thrown him over the edge. Nobody around. No cameras. Makes it look like he's fell to his death.

A lot of stories not adding up. Isn't the place where he was found the place where his phone last pinged?

How exactly was he found? In the open? Between a gap in the rocks? In the undergrowth?
I find it odd the first place they should have looked was the last place.
